25.01.2022 Love this statement: Technology is nothing. Whats important is that you have a faith in people, that theyre basically good and smart, and if you give them tools, theyll do wonderful things with them. - Steve Jobs

25.01.2022 Busy times! Very pleased to support Diane and Bill in their new business - Paynesville Holiday Park. Previously the Resthaven Caravan Park - we assisted with the new website and the changes in Google to get the new name in the search engines asap.... https://www.paynesvilleholidaypark.com.au

24.01.2022 Well settled in with Windows 10 - small issue with sound but fixed in a few minutes. Do I like it - love the new browser, a little more user friendly but thats about it for me. Was happy with 8.1

24.01.2022 Beware opening a scammers con this Christmas The ACCC is warning the community to be wary of scammers trying to ruin their Christmas holidays. Scammers often try to take advantage of people during the busy Christmas period and prey on our vulnerabilities at this time of year. For example, they may take advantage of you looking for a good deal on a family holiday, searching for a loved ones present at an online store, or even that youre expecting a present from someone thr...ough the post. Watch out for three common holiday season scams: Travel scams: scammers trick their victims into believing theyve won a travel prize or scored a really good deal on a travel package, like a cruise. Unfortunately these seemingly too-good-to-be-true holidays are nothing more than a scammers con. In the past 12 months, nearly $86,000 has been lost to this scam, with about 1750 reports. Online shopping scams: scammers will set up believable looking online stores to trick people into goods that dont really exist. They might also set up fake online classified or auction site listings. They entice people with legitimate looking discounts and may even advertise items as the perfect Christmas present for a loved one. This scam has cost Australians more than $1.3 million in the past 12 months, with more than 6440 reports. Parcel delivery scams: with millions of packages moving across the country to get under a Christmas tree in time, scammers will send fake missed delivery notices to potential victims. These scams are aimed at getting people to download malware or ransomware onto their PCs, which can be costly to remove; or steal their personal information. Scamwatch has received about 1700 reports of this scam in the past 12 months. Your personal information is often just as valuable to a scammer as your money so always be careful about the information you give out online, Ms Rickard said. There are some simple tips you can follow to stay ahead of scammers these holidays. If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Do your research on any online stores youre using, especially if its for the first time. Never do a deal or make a payment outside the online auction site you are using. If you are buying from a classified website only hand over the money when you have physically inspected the goods. Finally, never open attachments or download files you receive out of the blueno matter who the email comes from or how legitimate it looks, Ms Rickard said. Further information about holiday season scams is available at www.scamwatch.gov.au.

24.01.2022 Another message re scams from ACCC The ACCC is warning people to stay alert to phishing scammers pretending to be from well-known businesses and government departments trying to con unsuspecting victims out of their personal information and money. So far in 2017, the ACCCs Scamwatch has received more than 11,000 reports of this scam, with nearly $260,000 lost....Continue reading

24.01.2022 Cant believe it is so long since posted - apologies! Welcome to Bairnsdale Adult Equestrian Club - we are setting up a new website for this growing club. Our thanks!

23.01.2022 Attempts to break in have finally stopped. The additional security has really paid off. Have emailed them a testimonial.

22.01.2022 And also welcome to Roblyn Park Puppies (https://www.roblynparkpuppies.com.au) breeders of Cavalier and Cavoodle puppies.

22.01.2022 Wow - cant believe it so long since added something. But as usual, its a scam warning. Latest one is titled: CANCELLATION DOMAIN SERVICE NOTICE... EXPIRATION DATE: 01.12.2019 YOUR DOMAIN SERVICE IS DUE TO EXPIRE No - its not! Domain names/owner contact info are easily recorded and companies such as this send out test emails trying to get some $$ from unsuspecting domain owners. In this email, they are asking for 86.00 (for an Aussie domain?) and threaten if not paid, the domain name will be removed from their servers. That may be true but the domain is not on their server, so no issue at all. Its like saying that unless you give me money I will remove your name from a page in a little notebook I keep in my bedroom. Manage

22.01.2022 And dont forget to keep those Joomla sites updated. Two upgrades recently.

22.01.2022 Pleased to have updated the website for The Grand Terminus Hotel in Bairnsdale. Great food, great accommodation, great bottleshop and now a fully mobile ready website. My thanks and have a great Christmas!

20.01.2022 Regardless of the type of website, major browsers will soon start showing warning messages for sites that dont have SSL. SSL is security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and the users web browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private and secure.... How can you tell if a site has SSL? Look in your browsers top address bar for "https://" at the beginning of the websites address. There may also be a small padlock logo. Look at the facebook url - it is secured by SSL. Our site has SSL as we value the security of our clients data. We can easily arrange an SSL certificate for your site - please contact us.

19.01.2022 Pleased to have upgraded the website for Maffra Community Sports Club. The club has recently undertaken a huge refurbishment and the website reflects the quality of this incredible venue! http://maffracommunitysportsclub.com.au/

19.01.2022 Sadly, most of my posts are related to scams. Heres another that I almost fell for - but didnt. Anyone who owns a domain name may have had a letter inviting them to renew their domain name at inflated prices, well it seems the same thing is happening to business name owners. I received a physical letter today inviting me to renew a business name.... It says; "Steps to renew your business names." 1. Visit the website www .BNrenewal.com.au/ABN=[my ABN Number] 2. Enter your contact details 3. Pay by card "The ASIC initiated cancellation may begin in case you fail to renew your business name." At the top of the letter it says "Renew your Business Namel" in bold letters with a PO Box address in Altona Meadows, Vic While the letter looks official, it is not from ASIC and they will charge you $99 to renew your business name for a year, whereas if you do it yourself on the ASIC website http://asic.gov.au/for-business/renewing-your-business-name/ it costs just $35! Be WARNED! Inages below are of the site to avoid - its a SCAM

19.01.2022 Just a reminder about our prices, which have not changed for 9 years! Domain names just $65 for 2 years for a .com.au domain name - no setup costs! 17.01.2022 Busy times - apologies for delays! Many of our clients are understanding the value of making their site Google Mobile Friendly. Have done two this weekend! It can be a long job but we will get better/quicker as time progresses. Generally, Joomla based sites are much quicker to complete than HTML based sites.

16.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS: Google Security Changes Avoid Getting Labeled As Unsecure By GoogleAdd An SSL To Your Website. ... Beginning in January, Google Chrome will consider your website as "not secure" if you collect passwords or credit card info but dont have an SSL installed. An SSL not only encrypts credit card data, personal information, and passwords, but also displays a lock icon and "HTTPS" in the address baryour visitors will know your site is protected. Why should this matter to you? Adding an SSL to your website not only secures it, but also allows you to avoid being branded as unsafe by Google. An SSL Certificate will: Ensure encrypted data for your website Show an HTTPS label and lock icon in the address bar Prevent your site from being labeled "not secure" by Google Contact us now for prices and options.

15.01.2022 And heres another scam - this one sent to one of my personal domains. Its just there in case I need it and is empty and has never been active. I certainly wouldnt submit it or pay for SEO. This is a total scam - again, watch out!

14.01.2022 Looking forward to the end of the month -Windows 10! Watch this space.

13.01.2022 Oh dear - they are at it again. Another email from "Paypal", telling me that my account will be closed. Another scam from people hoping to catch out unsuspecting, honest people. But how do you tell? ... 1. This image shows the email - dont click on "check it now" - goes to a site in the Netherlands and certainly not Paypal. 2. Look where the email has come from - not Paypal! 3. Hover over the unsubscribe and see where your click will take you - again to the Netherlands and not Paypal! Simple action! Ignore. Bin. Trash.

05.01.2022 Another Scam warning from ACCC Dear Paul, The ACCC is warning people to be on the lookout for scammers who are trying to con their victims into paying for scams with Apple iTunes gift cards. During 2017 to date, reports to the ACCCs Scamwatch show 1236 people lost nearly $540,000 to scammers using gift cards as payments. This is a growing trend: in the 2015-16 financial year losses were about $480,000....Continue reading

04.01.2022 More Joomla updates :- ) Joomla 3.4.2 was released yesterday but unfortunately a few high priority issues were discovered as people upgraded live sites which never occurred during the testing phase - and so Joomla 3.4.3 was released to address these. Even if you have upgraded to Joomla 3.4.2 already, you should update again today to Joomla 3.4.3 so you dont get left behind.... For just $50 per year, we can do the upgrade work for you! Contact us for more info.

01.01.2022 Watch out for scammers! One of my clients received this and luckily spotted the wording was designed to confuse. Read this: This important expiration notification offer notifies you about the expiration offer notice of your domain registration for yourdomain.com search engine optimization submission. It is not an expiration of domain registration but a supposed expiration of a search engine optimization submission - which you would not have made.... Later wording explains this but it is an unsolicited bill for something you never received or requested. So ... ignore. They are just a scam.
