24.01.2022 Thanks ABC Gippsland. We had a great time making the video. It’s a great representation of our ‘caring, learning community’. Enjoy the holidays everyone.

22.01.2022 Things are underway. Plenty of support at recess for the workers.

21.01.2022 On Thursday afternoon I was contacted by the Herald Sun in regards to a report they had online that was incorrect. James Mottershead has apologised to our community for this incorrect information as he now knows that BWPS has not been closed due to COVID-19. Thanks for your continued support, Doug Vickers... 19.01.2022 As advised by the Premier it is business as usual for us on Monday. All students will return to on site schooling. The Government has provided us with Health and Safety information to support us to continue to provide a safe teaching and learning environment for staff and students. The same routines that existed at the end of term 2 are still in place for the beginning of term 3.... We ask parents/carers to not enter school buildings and only come on site to support your child getting to and from their designated drop off point if they require support. If you need to come into the office area, please come in via the front door on the Wallace St side. We are excited to see all the students on Monday and look forward to another term all together as a community. Thanks for your continued support, BWPS

16.01.2022 Assembly with JLA

16.01.2022 Our new Community Classroom is completed and in action. This week we are using it for our transition program for our 2021 Preps. Thanks to EVCG, the Victorian School Building Authority, Wayne Trinder Plumbing, ATR Communications, Elliot Yeates Electrical, Wood St Floorings, Egan and Freshwater Electrical, Craig Alvin Cabinetry and Matt Irish Painting for helping us make this a reality. All great local people to work with. We were also the recipients of a grant from Schools ...Plus to help create this terrific asset for our community. Schools Plus is a terrific organisation connecting government schools with private philanthropists and organisations that want to give back to communities. We look forward to many more years of using this classroom for a range of programs to enhance our ‘caring, learning community’.

15.01.2022 Hi everyone, A big thanks to all the families that shared photos of their special blokes to go in the video we posted yesterday. Bairnsdale West Students including those aged 12 or over will not have to wear a face covering while at school.... 03.01.2022 We cant wait to meet any new families or siblings that are going to join us for 2021 as Preps. The transition process will look a bit different this year but rest assured we will be aiming to make it work for you and your child. The first step is to call into the office during Term 3 to get some information. Alternatively, you can contact Kieran if you have questions . We are still able to have you come into school for a conversation about your child, so please take up this opportunity if you would like to.

02.01.2022 Message from Doug

01.01.2022 Hi everyone, Today we sent home this message with all students: There are a number of matters I would like to bring to your attention and to keep everyone informed in regards to COVID - 19 and our school community.... We are receiving ongoing advice from the Department of Education and hence our decision making is based upon this advice and knowledge of our community. Its importing to note that the reason for transferring to remote learning is due to a health issue not an education issue. As advised by the Premier Tuesday 4th August (tomorrow) will be a Pupil Free Day for all students. From Wednesday 5th August all students will be working remotely, so those that can learn from home, must learn from home. If you would like to discuss your individual needs regarding at school supervision please contact the school office. Classroom teachers will be in contact with families soon to setup suitable arrangements for learning at home. As per previous at home arrangements, we will be providing individual learning packs early next week. All information in regards to school decisions will be included on the Skoolbag App and Facebook page, so we ask that families check this regularly. There will continue to be an online assembly on Wednesdays and a weekly newsletter on Thursdays, that will be distributed on Facebook and a link will be sent on the Skoolbag app. Thanks again for your ongoing support and in the meantime, be healthy, walk, sleep well and we will continue to keep you informed. Kind Regards, Doug Vickers PRINCIPAL
