23.01.2022 Practising hands, feet and faking for the upcoming tournament

22.01.2022 Here is the video we were discussing tonight in class: https://youtu.be/9g7dSIIIrQo

22.01.2022 Hi all, Unfortunatly we are now unable to hold any kind of in-person training for Bai Rui Holland Park. I'd like to give online training a go. We were able to try squad last weekend as a test and it worked ok - but we have some lessons learnt. The next squad will be much better I think. World Cup training will also start at 7:30AM.... I will distribute the meeting link to the email list - feel free to get in contact with me if you haven't got it. I will use the same meeting link for Bai Rui Holland Park, World Cup training and squad. It works on computers or mobile devices - for computers, it is possible to run the meeting through the browser, but if you are able to download the application, it's much better. If your computer does not have a webcam, it's still possible to join! Smartphones do a great job as well but you may need to think about how you mount the phone so it stays upright. Having external speakers helps greatly. We a lot of trouble with audio - I have new AV equipment coming which might help, but for now, I'll try to speak closer to the microphone. Training will be in full uniform, and go from 6:30PM to 7:30PM - so just one hour. We will do some fitness, patterns and some light pad work but I'll make alternatives if you are training individually, and are unable to work together. If your training area is outside, feel free to wear shoes. Regards, Nikki Amie-Fong

21.01.2022 Hi all, Holland Park will run a class tonight as usual - the usual time and place. Turns out the hall is not being repainted yet after all (I just checked).

19.01.2022 Hi all, In alignment with the recent announcement from government, the Bai Rui Holland Park club will be temporarily shutting down. We have the option of running the club in an outdoors environment but I want to double check the safety of the area before contemplating this. Therefore, classes from now are cancelled. Squad training is likely to be able to continue outdoors. More information to follow on that.... In any event, some kind of training regime will be provided - Mr Nguyen and I are looking at ways to deliver classes through videos or through video conferences. These videos, that you can follow along, will make it much easier to stay in training. I have received offers to continue paying fees during this time - that is very kind. The Holland Park club is in the fortunate position of having little overheads during this shutdown - no fees are needed. Just to reiterate - fees are not required during this time. I would ask that black belts continue to send me certificate information (date of birth, headshot photo and scans of certificates) so that I can process these ITF certificates. This is the perfect time to do this kind of admin work really. This situation is unprecendented. It brings challenges that we have likely never faced, and puts us in a place that brings anxiety and fear. As martial artists, we are potentially better equipped to deal with this - be kind to others and look out for them - both physically and mentally. Regards, Nikki Amie-Fong

18.01.2022 Don't forget, training is on tonight in the online Zoom meeting. If you don't have the link, please get in contact with your instructor. 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

12.01.2022 Hi all, I checked out the outside area at the Holland Park dojang and I have concerns about the lighting and car traffic on Thursday. However, I'd like to suggest that we try a special 1 hour class on Tuesday in the undercover area, assuming that restrictions don't go ahead. Squad is on for Saturday. We will train in groups of 10 or less, outdoors, in alignment with the government restriction on PT classes.... As a school, we are beginning to adapt to training in this world. If willing, please register for online training (http://www.bairui.com/h/online-learning-portal-registration) - further information on how to use this service will be announced shortly. Lastly, please see the online announcement from Bai Rui regarding training: http://www.bairui.com//lates/around-the-clubs/219-covid-19 I hope you are all safe and well.

12.01.2022 Just a reminder that there is no class on tomorrow night. Merry Christmas all!

12.01.2022 Big HELLO from Appi Hills, Japan I’m off to the gym to do patterns. Hope everyone is safe and training hard. Cheers Mrs Leishman

09.01.2022 A number of seniors from Bai Rui attended the International Instructors Course in Auckland over the weekend. A fantastic session- lots of info to bring back!

07.01.2022 Hi all, Very sorry to announce this, but for various reasons, the first class back for 2020 won't be until next Thursday, 9 Jan 2020. I understand that this is later than expected and I apologise if you were looking forward to starting back early.... Kind regards, Nikki Amie-Fong

06.01.2022 Hi all, Sadly, we will not be able to run squad training outside as originally planned. In fact, all face-to-face training and testings for Bai Rui as a school are now paused. In good news though, online training technology is now ready to go - both Zoom and Youtube Live are workable.... * Youtube Live is good because it works on many TVs easily * Zoom is good because it is simple to connect to a meeting (I will send you a web link) and it works on phones, iPads and PCs very well, with lots of participants. Squad training will be the first time I use this. This is scheduled to start at 9AM this Saturday! Regards, Nikki Amie-Fong
