25.01.2022 TEACHER APPRECIATION . With the end of the 2020 school year drawing to an end today the kids took in their very well thought out teacher gifts using some of our BBD Teacher range goodies as a gesture of our appreciation for all they have done in not only educating but giving pure joy each and every school day . It was so nice to be able to help the girls make some class cookies to give out with their Christmas cards rather then the typical candy canes and Riley choose t...o gift morning tea and a Thank You cookie canister to his wonderful preschool educators . Christmas to us is not about receiving but about sharing precious moments and giving a token of our gratefulness during a pretty tough academic year to those who have been so wonderful in helping our children grow . 16.01.2022 SUPER HUMAN WEEK . Some weeks I look at my diary and think oh yeah that shall keep me busy for the week THEN there are other weeks when I look it and say OMFG why did I do this to myself . Last week was the OMFG week ... . The custom cakes were plentiful and the orders for cookies, cupcakes and cheesecakes were coming out my ears THATS WITHOUT the Pop Up Shop prep . I’d be lying if there wasn’t moments where I thought I couldn’t pull it off... . I’d be lying if I said the stress levels weren’t high... . I’d be lying if I said I stuck to my working hours of between 8am-4pm the 8.30pm-10.30pm... . BUT I excepted the challenge and I BLITZED it in just 4 days leaving me to enjoy my beautiful family over the weekend . THANK YOU for all those who ordered this week - your positive feedback really fills my cup with joy knowing you received exactly what you imagined and then some . To the outside the weeks seem to just flow and the baked goods just roll out with ease BUT the reality is that beyond those studio doors the BLOOD - SWEAT - TEARS and JOY is real, simply because I LOVE what I do and I truly value my customers whilst respecting their every wish . 15.01.2022 THATS A WRAP 2020 . Yesterday marked the FINAL creation to come out of the BBD kitchen . This year has been the most WONDERFUL ride with putting the Pink Van on the road in May to hosting our weekly pop ups, beautiful cake creations + our famous Vanilla Bean cookies all over Australia AND having some sent further abroad to the UK, USA & NZ by loved ones ... . We have made wonderful connections with the amazing and talented ladies behind the face of The Red Road Co whom I have not only established a business relationship with but a friendship that will last a lifetime . Special thanks to the man who helped make it all happen (you know who you are ), my wonderful husband and children for all the support during the tough times as well as to share the highs during the BEST times . Lastly to that lady in pink you see in the picture, my awesome Aunty whom figured that to get herself back in the game as she recovered from a very long 4 years suffering Chronic Fatigue that she would come and be my offsider in the van and decorating cookies 1 day a week. What she didn’t realize is how much WORK she was getting herself into as each week the orders seemed to double even triple in size from the week before, she is what got me through the CRAZY Christmas Cookie Mania without hesitation or complaint . HOW LUCKY AM I - you will never know how thankful I truly am and I’m secretly hoping you don’t ever go back to teaching full time so I can keep my offsider . I spoke about my BBD journey so far and how my business has evolved from very humble beginnings to what we have infront of us today. Each child is currently undertaking their own start up business from planning to budgets and creating the final product ... . 05.01.2022 { A DAY LIKE TODAY } . Started out like any other Monday..... . Get kids up and moving, realize there is not a great deal for the lunch box so lunch order it is as they rush out the door at 7.45am for the school bus ... . Kids gone so its coffee time in my dressing gown while I ponder over the diary for what’s on the cards for the week . 8.30am time to get ready for town as it’s my fav Monday of the month #selfcareday and the day I support the local beauty shops for nails, lashes and brows . 1pm and it’s time for a zoom meeting from my car with my new found life savers AKA my website designers/all things tech in business world to put some planning and strategy in place for what is set to be a crazy rollercoaster ride into the end of 2020 . 2pm meeting took way longer due to technology but heck all is well I’m feeling beautiful - I have a plan in place and then F**K I forgot to order the kids lunches for what is like the 10+ time this year that my poor children have had to go to their teacher and say we were ment to have a lunch order but Mum has forgot AGAIN !!! . MUM GUILT set straight in as I drive into the supermarket for the weekly supply/household groceries and a great big FLOOD of all this shit I haven’t got done today + all things I should have done at home + all this things that I continue fail at.... . To the outside world life appears to be smooth sailing and as a general it isn’t to bad BUT see that’s the problem with social media - we ONLY show the bits we WANT people to see.... . We don’t show the failures, the bad days, the times we just burst into tears as that candle that was burning at both ends has completely blown out.... . Being a Mum in business is hard, being a farm wife in a separate business is hard and being a sole trader with zero staff only family helpers trying to create your own empire is F**King HARD!!!!!! . My hat goes off to you all and here’s cheers to YOU .
