18.01.2022 At the time when I made this cake I was heavily pregnant and although it took a little while longer to create than usual, I loved making it, especially as it was for special friends and I was completely honoured they choose me to create their little boys cakes. Christening and 1st birthday cake created for a special little man Hugo. Both cakes were chocolate mud sandwiched between layers of chocolate ganache.

17.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Welcome to Bakehouse Cakes! It’s been awhile since you’ve seen me here. Bakehouse Cakes has however been baking and creating sweet treats over this time.... More importantly during the time away hubby and I welcomed the sweetest and most beautiful little creation of all, our little boy came along and he has been great!! He has taken up a lot my time but I have been loving it. Whilst playing with him in his play kitchen I started thinking, how much I missed being back in the zone, of baking and creating. For those who don’t know me, let me introduce myself. My name is Kim. Growing up I watched my Mum and Sister bake and create sweet treats. I am that person that when buying or looking at recipe books I start from the sweet section first. But it wasn’t until I got married that I started experimenting with baking and creating myself. When in the kitchen I always lost myself in the world of sweet treats, fantasy and LOVED it! But I still craved more. One day in a fit of giddiness I persuaded a friend to join me in completing a cake decorating course and Bakehouse cakes was born, that was over 6 yrs ago. I soon realised it wasn’t just desserts I wanted to make, but also decorate cakes as an outlet for my creative side. My philosophy is to make cakes and desserts all from scratch from quality ingredients and hope that you will enjoy eating my creation first with your eyes then savour their flavours, as much as I have enjoyed making them for you. And now being a Mum myself I want to share my passion with you and my little man, whom I hope grows up with as many fond memories as I did.

12.01.2022 This cake was created to celebrate to 1st Sardine Festival at Sydney Portugal Community Club. The picture used on the cake was made by talented Portuguese artist Isa Silva. It was a great honour to be part of this special event and be able to share a bit of Bakehouse Cakes with the community. It was an awesome day, filled with great food, friends and fond memories reminding me of my childhood growing up and attending events at the Portuguese club :)
