24.01.2022 Good evening bakers! How is everyone feeling? We have had such a wonderful day today. We started the day picking up bread from Brasserie Bread Melbourne and dropped it at the The Big Issue Australia Melbourne vendor breakfast. It was such a humbling experience. The team members and vendors were so warm and welcoming. As a team we have now come together to share a meal and a glass of wine. We are so grateful for everyone's enthusiasm, sharing photos and stories across all social media platforms. Thank you to everyone who baked for someone or bought something from a cafe and started a difficult but important conversation. For those who have yet to hold their BOBA event, please be sure to share stories and pics when you do. Thank you. x

23.01.2022 We have had such a great response to our social media comp. Instagram, Twitter and Facebook was lit up with images of delicious food for Baking our Blues Away 2016. I am thrilled to announce the winner of the Emma Dean cook book is..... Carine! Congratulations to Carine and thank you to all who took part. We will be in touch shortly.

23.01.2022 There are four women on the Boba board all of which have children and understand the importance of support and assistance. We are also very lucky to have a couple of very supportive husbands and fathers on our board as well. As parents to young kids this is something that is important to our whole team. If you are a mum in need of support or perhaps know a mum who you think may be struggling, check out beyondblues healthy families website.

22.01.2022 We have woken this morning to find our fundraising is only $52 off $5000! A big shout out to Monique Barnett who has raised over $2000. Thank you to everyone else who held morning teas or staff bake off's. This is such a fantastic result. beyondblue will be thrilled.

22.01.2022 Such a great read. The positive effects everyday tasks like baking/cooking can have on an individuals mental state.

21.01.2022 I am working on a low sugar, wholemeal muffin recipe in readiness for BOBA 2017.

19.01.2022 Good morning! With the start of a new year comes the planning for Boba 2017. We would love to know what you would like it to look like? What can we do to make the day more enjoyable for you? Would you like to hear more real stories? Would you like more recipes from high profile people?... Would you like tips on how to start a conversation? Any assistance you could give us would be greatly appreciated. Have a lovely day. See more

18.01.2022 As the Founder of Baking our Blues Away I am always trying to find ways to engage with people and help others using the power of home cooking. This year I have been working on a project called 52gifts. Cooking a meal for a different member of our community each week. Not only has it given me such a memorable experience, I have created a blog full of lovely stories and imagery. You can follow the journey on Instagram @52gifts or hit the link to read about my experiences. http://52gifts.com.au//gift-40-one-generous-community-mem/

17.01.2022 Welcome to Spring! We at BOBA headquarters are going to be adopting some of these great ideas.

15.01.2022 We are very fortunate to have a number of our BOBA community that are prepared to share their stories, in a bid to help others. This post is quite confronting. If this post does trigger an issue for you, please contact Lifeline on 131114. http://bakingourbluesaway.com.au/stories/a-family-affected/

07.01.2022 It is with great sadness that I announce that we will not be facilitating Baking our Blues away this year. Unfortunately, our team of mates that put Boba together each year all have young families and day jobs, making it increasingly challenging to devote time to Baking our Blues away, for that reason we have had to make the difficult decision to take a step back. We had great plans to elevate the event and create something that would become a household name, however the real...ity is time and know how are limited. I would like to take a moment to thank the amazing team that have taken this journey with me. My beautiful husband Tim who both encourages and endures my many ideas and projects, my dearest girlfriends Sharon, Belinda and Deidre, friends for over 30 years I am so proud that we could develop such a beautiful initiative together and finally Luke, you have taken on this as your own from day one, you are our IT guru and you have also been on the receiving end of my near break downs in the lead up to BOBA each year, for that I thank you. We have put together a little montage to celebrate what all of us have achieved over five years, I cannot thank you all enough, each and every person who has baked something for someone doing it tough, particularly for those for who baking doesn’t come naturally. I am so touched by the letters and emails I have received by people who have connected with this event and experienced a positive interaction. What I am hoping most is that you no longer need us tapping you on the shoulder, to encourage you to connect. What I am hoping is that you will diarise July 15th every year and quietly go about your business baking for someone doing it tough and creating genuine interactions. If I can look back and see that each year this takes place without our prompting, I will know that what we have done has created long term change. I am so proud of what all of us have achieved. I have loved every photo, every story. I have both laughed and cried with you as a community. You have shared more than I thought you ever would and my heart could explode with pride. For some of you, I know you are struggling and I know that BOBA gives you strength, what I will say is that you are not alone, there is help at hand beyondblue have fantastic resources. As I write this I realise it was this time six years ago that I posted a request on Facebook for my friends to bake for someone doing it tough, I could not have foreseen the reception I got from the wider community. I am so grateful and humbled by what we as a community have achieved. I would like to thank you all for going on this journey with us and I wish you good health and happiness. I cannot thank you enough for the warmth and generosity I have felt being enveloped by my BOBA family. Thankyou & take care Michelle Founder Baking our Blues Away See more

07.01.2022 Today is the the first-ever national headspace day. In support of young people with mental health issues, headspace day is a national day of awareness to ensure that every young person in Australia has access to youth friendly mental health services, no matter where they live. It is not too late to grab an access all areas wristband from their website and show everyone that youth mental health matters. http://headspaceday.org.au/

05.01.2022 Happy New Year from the team at Boba. A new year is the perfect time to recalibrate and set in place some new routines to aid your mental health. We wish you all a wonderful 2017. Take care x

03.01.2022 How is everyone tonight? I hope you all had a wonderful relaxing weekend. We gave ourselves the weekend off social media, having worked so hard in the lead up to BOBA 2016. We would love to take a moment to thank all of our amazing Community Fundraisers. They have collectively raised over $3500. For anyone who is yet to deposit funds, please do so via the fundraising portal. For all those who will be holding their events in the coming weeks, never fear our fundraising portal will be available until September. We are currently working our way through the fabulous collection of photos you all shared across social media. We will be putting a collection together to show you in the coming days. We will also be announcing the winner of Emma Deans awesome book. Have a wonderful week.

02.01.2022 It's getting late in the day, however if you know someone struggling, check in on them. A Facebook message, a phone call or maybe drop a note with a little homebaking in their letterbox tomorrow. Those gestures that seem so small can have a life changing impact. Sleep well. x
