23.01.2022 Well 2020 has been interesting to say the least. We are always going to be faced with challenges in life and we have an opportunity to access our inherent skills and learn to surf rather than stopping the waves. If we are going to manage all the challenges we have to do more than just bounce back. We have to be able to bounce forward. We need to have both resilience and mental toughness if we want to really thrive.... So how do we develop our resilience and mental toughness to manage these challenges and surf these waves?

23.01.2022 Does your organisation value shining stars, those individuals who are such great performers that outshine all others within the team. Or do they value a team that work well together and achieve outcomes as a collective. There’s an old saying among sports coaches: A champion team will defeat a team of champions.

23.01.2022 Sometimes life just does not go to plan (especially this year) and shit just seems to happen continuously . When we feel like we are knocked down by challenges and stress day after day after day, we feel our motivation and spark can take a real knock and everything can just seem that much harder. So how can we get our spark back? Try these strategies.....

20.01.2022 Do You Have Emotional Intelligence? Try asking yourself these 8 simple questions to find out.

20.01.2022 Have you ever berated yourself for making a wrong decision or called yourself stupid for the way you handled a meeting? We can be extremely hard on ourselves sometimes. But is it useful to be so harsh and even unkind to ourselves in this way? Could we exercise a little self-compassion? After all, shouldn't we be speaking to ourselves just as we would speak to our best friend?

19.01.2022 It has been an interesting year and uncertainty has become our new normal. When we first glimpse uncertainty, our fear centre tends to take over and our negativity bias focuses on all the potential threats that we can perceive could happen in any given scenario. On the bright side, if you know the right tricks, you can override your brain’s irrational tendencies and handle uncertainty much more effectively.

18.01.2022 The stress we experience can often define who we are and also our response. But if we are feeling the effects of stress long after the event has passed, we need to consider how we are reframing this stressor and developing our personal resilience. It is our ability to not only bounce back, but also bounce forward in the face of challenges that is going to allow us to really reach our personal potential and manage our mental health.

17.01.2022 In the past 5 months in Australia, we have had more individuals die as a result of suicide than we have from Coronavirus. This is another pandemic which is going viral. When we see someone who may be demonstrating the signs of poor mental health, many of us feel ill equipped to even start a conversation or offer support. So, consider some opportunities you have to reach out and let someone know you are there.

09.01.2022 We are currently living in a world where volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity is the new normal. Do you have the resilience and mental toughness to "bounce forward" and see these challenges as opportunities rather than as a threat? You can develop your Mental Toughness using the 4 Cs framework:... Control The extent to which you believe you control and shape what happens to you. Commitment - The extent to which you do what you say you will do long after the feeling has gone. Challenge- The extent to which you see challenges, change, adversity and uncertainty as opportunities rather than as threats. Confidence- The extent to which you believe you have the capability to deal with what you are facing. Want to know more? Give me a call on 0412047590 or send me an email [email protected]

08.01.2022 We have all been faced with an individual or with a situation in which we find it really difficult to listen. Our first reaction to most of the statements we hear from other people is an immediate evaluation, or judgment, rather than an understanding of it. So how can we engage some simple strategies to really listen to understand?

07.01.2022 Within every team and within every relationship there is always going to be a difference of opinion. But when we get caught up in trivial disputes and stop focusing on the bigger picture, we can get bogged down. So, how can we manage conflict more successfully and reduce our reactivity and focus on the bigger picture?

06.01.2022 Let’s be honest, most of us run around masquerading as the energizer bunny. We look at the mountain of tasks we have to get done in any given day and try and surge ahead in a manic rush of energy trying to complete every last thing on our to do list and then exclaim I’m just so exhausted at the end of the day. But what starts to happen if we slow down, take a deep breath and consider re-prioritising what is really important to us. What happens when we put our wellbeing first?

05.01.2022 In both our workplaces and in our home lives, a lot of the energy we have comes from the people who are around us. If we want to be; physically energised, emotionally connected, mentally focussed and spiritually aligned, we need to think about who we have around us in our immediate vicinity. What sort of people do you have around you?

02.01.2022 Have you ever seen a herd of cows in a paddock as you drive through the country and they are staring off into the yonder chewing that grass as their teeth grind round and round. Consider how you can stop ruminating like a cow in 3 simple steps.
