20.01.2022 Here are a few affirmations you may find helpful during COVID-19 and you can substitute 'I' with 'you' if that is more comfortable: 'Its just another storm, storms don't last but I do' 'I am enjoying and making the most of my quiet time'... 'Breathe in, let go, relax, breathe in, let go, relax, breathe in, let go, relax, breathe in, let go, relax' 'I am strong, resilient and will get through this' 'Each day I find things to be grateful for' 'Each day I open myself up to and notice financial opportunities' 'Things could be worse. I am grateful for everything I have' 'Calm....its just a storm....calm....its just a storm....' Let us know how you go and any effective affirmations you come up with! :)

20.01.2022 Sunday...a spiritual day for many. BakSound has no specific spiritual belief but we respect all religions and most importantly we respect our own voice. Think about how your life is influenced by so many other voices...external voices such as parents, teachers, lecturers, bosses, religion, TV, social media, government, doctors, movies, music... BakSound is about coming back to self and listening more to your OWN VOICE. ... Especially a positive voice, not the pesky negative one. BakSound is about making the ultimate statement to self that YOU matter. BakSound is extremely powerful because it is YOUR voice. Remember your brain can't tell the difference between reality and imagined reality. It certainly believes negative thoughts! So why not feed yourself positive alternatives? BakSound is great for replaying your prayers or mantras over the top of relaxing soundscapes. Or even while you doze off. And please...use it to listen to your own voice and statements. Its a wonderful gift to self that would make any God happy to see, and we promise you, you will see changes. As always, if you need help crafting your statements or have questions, send us a message. :)

14.01.2022 Mindfulness during this crisis. One strategy to help deal with COVID-19 is to fast forward five years and reflect back on how you handled the situation. How do you want your actions to be remembered?... What do you want to feel proud of in how you handled the crisis? What do you want your loved ones, your employees, your customers to remember regarding your actions during this time? This can help set your intent of how you behave today, tomorrow, next week...

07.01.2022 VIRUS AFFIRMATIONS Here are a few affirmations you may find helpful during this extremely challenging time filled with unprecedented uncertainty. BakSound affirmations are a powerful tool to switch your thinking and help lower anxiety. You can play them while walking, exercising, driving, before bed. Even fall asleep with them playing.... During this time it can be helpful to follow some zen and Christian beliefs - radical acceptance and acknowledging what we can control, what we can't and having the courage to change what we can. With this in mind, here are a few affirmations you may wish to try and always modify them to suit your style and preferred wording. "This is just another storm...storms don't last but you do" "This is just a storm...it will pass." "in each moment I am focusing on what I can control and letting go of things I can't" "Anxiety over things I can't control is wasted energy that could be put to better use elsewhere" "I am focusing my thoughts on the positive actions I can take" "What would a victorious and strong person do? How would they tackle this? What would they think, feel and do? Remember, you can choose to be this strong person too!" "I am blessed and grateful for all the support and help I am receiving during this time." "I fully accept the things I can not change and focus on what I can" ____ Hope this helps and feel free to share any affirmations you have found work well! :)

02.01.2022 RUNNERS - here's some examples of how you can use BakSound to improve your training. Push yourself that little bit harder in training. It can be easy to back off in training and convince ourselves we’ve done enough. ... When you feel like calling it quits, BakSound statements serve two important purposes: they help you see the situation from a different perspective and keep you going, and they help rewire your brain so that the next time you feel like stopping, your brain delivers thoughts to the contrary. See the sample BakSound statement list at the end of this post and don’t be shy in making up your own. Whatever works for you is key! Whatever you need to tell yourself to get the result! And rememberno one else is listening so feel free to record whatever you want in BakSound! Mental toughness use BakSound to record statements that remind you, you are tough and can handle it (see sample list), and to cheer you on. It is important to replace the usual thoughts we all get when hitting our limits. Record statements in third person, i.e. you can do this!. Using BakSound regularly when you are hitting your limit will program your brain to regurgitate these statements the next time you are struggling in a race and slipping mentally. Your brain will become programmed to deliver encouraging and positive statements rather than the negative ones it may have in the past. Technique BakSound can help deliver reminders of key techniques that your coach has given you. This becomes even more necessary when you start tiring and your technique reverts back to old habits. Thank you to running coach Sean Williams (facebook.com/melbournepack/) for providing the following examples of technique statements to record as reminders. >Tilt forward at the hips >Lift knees up high >Bring feet up under hips >Land on forefoot >Shoulders back and chest out >Run tall >Use my arms >Feel my muscles hang off my bones >Keep relaxed Note: the following are written in third person, because research by Dr James Hardy of Bangor University has found that the majority of people respond better to ‘You’ rather than ‘I’. However, not everyone is the same and some people respond better to ‘I’. Test which works best for you - that is what matters most at the end of the day! More examples from Sean... You are a strong runner You are noticing every week that you are getting stronger and stronger You are filled with energy You can do anything You are powerful You feel great You are getting faster You always finish strong You are relaxed and focused You run like the wind You love running You have a strong and healthy body You are light and fast You love running hills You love the sun Remember, tough times don’t last but you do I’ll feel better in a mile
