21.01.2022 We're taking a short break, which means that the Gallery will be closed today, Friday and Sunday, but are back to normal hours on Thursday October 1 with 'The Thin Red Line', an intriguing annotated exhibition about how the town of Balaklava got its name. Get ready to follow the thin red line next week and make a few discoveries about our town and its history!

19.01.2022 Last chance! The 2020 Balco Balaklava Art Prize Exhibition has its final day tomorrow, Sunday September 20 between 2 and 4pm. It's your last opportunity to enjoy this wonderful, eclectic and colourful display of 122 works by South Australian artists - and perhaps to purchase your favourite work to take home and enjoy at leisure. Don't miss it!

Look for a lone penguin ready to party, an ethereal Tasmanian Devil, a couple of quirky clay figures and a pink parrot! View the world through the eyes of our talented young student artists - there is so much to see and enjoy. Don’t miss this wonderful exhibition!

16.01.2022 WE’RE CLOSED Due to South Australia’s mandated COVID lockdown, Balaklava Courthouse Gallery will be closed from Thursday November 19 until Wednesday November 25 , but we hope to reopen our doors on Thursday 26th November for an extended final week of the 2020 Balaklava High Art Show. 10.01.2022 'People's Choice' Award Winner Margaret Millington 'Home at last' / Watercolour

10.01.2022 The 2020 Balco Balaklava Art Prize exhibition closed on Sunday, and votes of visitors to the exhibition were counted for the "People's Choice" Prize. We're pleased to announce that the winning work is Margaret Millington's beautiful watercolour 'Home at Last'. Congratulations to Margaret, and a big thank you to the prize sponsor, Mrs Joyce Ross, the Gallery's visionary founding President and a longtime supporter of the Gallery. Thank you, too, to all the artists who entered work this year. It's always a wonderful exhibition - and we look forward to seeing you all here again in 2021!

06.01.2022 We are delighted to announce - with apologies for the delay - the prize winning works in the 2020 Balco Balaklava Art Prize. Congratulations to all the prize winners and thank you all so much for your support! We received 122 entries from 69 artists, with 17 first time exhibitors, and the exhibition looks wonderful in our beautiful historic gallery. Thank you to our Judge Lauren Mustillo, Country Arts SA, for her expertise and encouragement.
