21.01.2022 2020 BALAKLAVA EISTEDDFOD CANCELLATION - https://mailchi.mp/c/2020-balaklava-eisteddfod-cancellation

19.01.2022 ** 25th BALAKLAVA EISTEDDFOD CANCELLED ** It is regrettably announced that due to the current Covid-19 situation in SA, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 25th Balaklava Eisteddfod. An email will be sent out to entrants in due course with information about refund, rollover or donation of entry fees. ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE PRESIDENT, BRONWYN COTTLE ========================================... It is with regret that due to the rules & restrictions regarding COVID-19, the Balaklava Eisteddfod Society has made the hard decision to CANCEL the 2021 Balaklava Eisteddfod. As schools will be closed and everyone in lockdown within days of the event and no guarantees that this will not be extended, along with the risk to our community, we know this is the most responsible and only decision to be made at this time. We regret any inconvenience to anyone and wish to thank everyone that has worked so hard to prepare for it. We thank the convenors and their teams and the very generous sponsors and advertisers, who make this event possible. To all the schools and performers who have entered, we will miss seeing you this year but hope that next year the world is in a safer place and we can try again on August 5th & 6th 2022 Kind Regards, Bronwyn Cottle, President On behalf of the Balaklava Eisteddfod Society committee July 2021

11.01.2022 ***** CANCELLATION NOTICE ***** ============================ 24th Balaklava Eisteddfod 2020 ============================... Following the declaration of a Public Health Emergency Announcement in South Australia, the Balaklava Eisteddfod Society have made the decision to CANCEL the 24th Balaklava Eisteddfod 2020, as a precaution to the COVID-19 virus. Postponing the event is NOT an option given the uncertainty surrounding the Coronavirus and months of preparation required to schedule and run the event. The decision is in the best interest of health, safety and wellbeing of our community, participants, teachers, families, audience members and visitors to the region. We apologise for any inconvenience or disappointment caused. However, we assure you that we are already working on preparations for an exciting 2021 Eisteddfod on *30th, 31st July & 1st August 2021*

Thinking of all who have been affected by the fires in any way and a huge thank you goes to our emergency services (paid & volunteer), farm firefighting units and independent firefighters.
