14.01.2022 Why do we hold back from delegating? Simply, it’s hard. We’ve put in long days and nights into our businesses and giving up a measure of authority or control can feel uncomfortable. ... Or, perhaps we’ve tried delegating in the past and it’s burnt us badly. Maybe we’re afraid of sharing credit or being outshone. Regardless, being honest with ourselves and developing the self-awareness to recognise the roadblocks we put up is an essential part of the process. Qualities to work on: Modesty | Recognising our limitations. We cannot be all things to everyone and that is okay. It means we can achieve more collectively as a team and are happy to share the success and celebrate growth in others. Trust | Trust our team member will complete the assigned task or responsibility to the standard required. Identify what we need to establish that trust and hire accordingly.
