23.01.2022 Yesterday Allan & I went to Beaudesert Pony Club combined training! While 5 of my awesome students were getting personal bests at Waterford Dressage! So proud of all of them! Allan jumped the best SJ round he has in months to win us the seniors class! Fun day out with the Waterford team!

22.01.2022 Lovely afternoon sunset and lesson before the storms rolled in yesterday at @star park!

19.01.2022 Agent Al (Allan) & I have been doing some jumping bit less in the rope halter. Today was our 3rd go! Having so much fun testing our training and me practicing my position.

18.01.2022 I haven't ridden my horse all week this week, which is unusual for me as that's my happy place. However I have loaned Allan to a wonderful student /friend of mine Talitha who this morning rode him superbly in my level 1 coaching sign off. Proud of Talitha & proud of Allan, they both did a great job!

17.01.2022 Cross country schooling mayhem (with bonus meltdown): On Friday I went cross country schooling. This is one of those sessions where I’m supposed to apply my soc...ial media filter. I show videos of Miiiiiiince & I ‘smashing it’ I talk about how awesome we were. Am I right? Or I could just tell you the absolute truth. The truth is lots of it was amazing, Miiiiince & I were awesome. We jumped through some tricky lines, bold as fuck through the water. But also there was the moment. The moment that I call ‘The Fuckening’ This is where something goes wrong, I make a mistake or Miiiiiince doesn’t understand a question & the little voice that whispers to me that I’m a bit shit & I shouldn’t be there shouts ‘Aha there it is, just as we expected, the fuckening, how typical, you’re a bag of shit woman, you are ruining a good horse, do us all a favour & give up’ See I can be going great. Jumping well, riding ok but my head is constantly thinking ‘Wait this is going too well... any minute now that fuckening is going to show it’s face’ And usually it’s very obliging & it does. Of course once The Fuckening appears...it’s basically a Fuckening Free for all...all sorts of shit starts going down. Now my reaction to The Fuckening can vary. It’s like standing in the sea & sometimes The Fuckening is just like waves lapping at my toes, it’s there but it doesn’t really bother me. But sometimes The Fuckening is like a massive wave it crashes over me, it soaks me with self doubt & drags away my self esteem. I can’t see how I can carry on, I should just give up. When The Fuckening does that to me it is so exhausting. The Fuckening occurred on Friday at a skinny, to a sunken road, to a skinny. We just couldn’t get it. I made mistakes, Miiiiince took the piss. Low & behold The Fuckening had appeared & it was the very bad kind. I cried. There was snot. I sobbed that I couldn’t do it, that I should give up & that I just wasn’t good enough. I was a right saggy ball bag! Now The Lovely Trainer is proper lovely & she’s also very good at talking me down. She ignored the snot & gave me a good talking to. Y’see if I want to go novice & do us justice at that level, if I’m truly serious about this 2* shit.... I need to train, I need to work & sometimes this training & this work is going to show where the holes are & what I need to work on. That’s the whole point of training..to allow the mistakes & put them right. If I want to get better I need to push out of my comfort zone & sometimes that is going to be hard & sometimes it is going to feel ugly....but these are the lessons that I can come away from better than ever, stronger & more confident. But that can’t happen if it gets a bit tough & I throw my hands up wailing ‘fuck this shit I’m giving up’ can it? It’s ok to make mistakes, everybody does: Andrew Nicholson has fallen off Pippa Funnell has fucked up a showjump Charlotte has miscounted a line of changes Everyone...EVERYONE has had a visit from the fuckening. So I wiped the snot & I ignored The Fuckening & I pushed on through. The skinny, sunken road, skinny? Yup we aced it. Y’see I can stay in my comfort zone, I can do what I find easy or I can stick my finger up at The Fuckening & try to be the very best that I can be.... ....and I think we all know what I choose.

11.01.2022 This weekend was the QLD Waler State Championships! I was privileged to be asked to ride my wonderful friend Tracey's Arizona (AKA ZoZo, whom earlier in the year I rode in the ANZAC day parade through Brisbane). We had a great day, winning the show hunter, working hunter and champion hunter class! Followed by reserve champion rider! Overall High Point Senior of the show! Great company and a fantastic turn out! Photos to come by the awesome Downunder Photography! Allan had a nice easy week, this week we are getting ready for Toowoomba ODE! Hope you all had a wonderful pony filled weekend!

08.01.2022 After a rollercoaster weekend at Toowoomba ODE last weekend, Allan and I attended Waterford Equestrian & Pony Club's Open Dressage day today! We competed in 2 Elementary tests with our first attempt at the 3B. I'm so proud of how hard my horse is trying to figure out this dressage stuff! We won both our tests and Elementary Champion! Huge thanks to our awesome club and the volunteers that make these days possible! Massive congratulations to my students who all had a wonderful time with their lovely equine friends!

02.01.2022 Allan (Agent Al) & I have had a fabulous weekend at the Fig Tree Pocket ODE. So grateful to be a part of team Cushavon Park Irish Draught and Sport Horse Stud. Huge thanks to Sarah, Sean & Pania for all you do! We had a rather ordinary dressage test on Saturday to have us sitting 7th, a rail in the Showjumping & the most amazing run XC! This horse just eats up the ground, and for the second time ever in my life we were under time! Thankfully no penalties this time! Overall we finished 6th! Hooray for a pretty ribbon! Thank you Fig Tree Pocket Equestrian Club for putting on another fabulous event & to all the volunteers, sponsors & competitors that make these events run so well! Photos thanks to Neale & Katherine.
