21.01.2022 Happy Diwali! One of our patients told us that today is the beautiful Hindu festival of lights celebrated in (the Indian) autumn every year. Apparantly the Sydney Opera House was lit up on Tuesday this week in celebration, and we're burning a candle in the clinic to acknowledge the festival. 18.01.2022 FOAM ROLL If you're not foam rolling, we recommend that you get started! Great for pain and posture, foam rolling inhibits overactive muscles to relieve pain and tension, stimulates blood flow for recovery, improves flexibility and increases parasympathetic control through muscle relaxation.... Tips for foam rolling: -Roll slow -Start with a light, sustained pressure is enough, to begin with. Gradually work towards increasing the pressure over time. -Spend more time at the muscle attachments (closer to the joints) rather than the muscle belly. This is where the inhibitory receptors live, they relax and lengthen the muscle when stimulated.
