25.01.2022 As we reach the end of a year, It is often a time of reflection and time to give thanks. This year has been one of the most difficult in history. Here some of the things we have adapted to and thrived throughout in 2020. At the start of 2020, our regional community experienced the bushfires and the worries that surrounded this natural disaster, we adapted to the significant changes that the peak cases we saw between March and June across the globe and Australia. We saw som...e children stay home, supported our families, as so many people were affected by the changes COVID bought us. Despite some significant changes to life as we knew it, our amazing team of educators continued to be a constant for children and families, continuing to support each other, remaining optimistic in in the face of change, we adapted to online learning and went through our very first Assessment and Rating, to which we were rated as EXCEEDING the National Quality Standards. At this time for reflection, if you attend our service before the new year- be sure to share one thing that brings you Joy! From all of us at Balance, We wish you a Merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing you when we reopen on Tuesday 29th December!

24.01.2022 Today is World Kindness Day. What random act of kindness can you do that will brighten someone's day? Say thanks, give a compliment, lend a helping hand. In a world where you can be anything - be kind! https://www.randomactsofkindness.org/world-kindness-day

23.01.2022 Today in Windradyne Wednesday. Our service is located in the suburb of Windradyne named after the historic Windradyne- who was a warrior and a leader of the Wiradjuri people. As apart of our NAIDOC week celebrations. The children in the Hakea Room were led by our beautiful Miss Kaitie as she participated in making some traditional Johnny cakes. . In the tradition of damper and bush bread, Johnny Cakes are a staple in any indigenous camp. Check out our happy friends as they learned about some bush Tucker!

22.01.2022 Merry Christmas Everyone! Look forward to seeing you when we return on Tuesday 29th December.

21.01.2022 We couldn’t get through the day without a mid morning tea party! In the Acacia Room, our teachers have been exploring the ideas around taking safe risks and using breakable items to teach children to understand how to best respect our resources and the world around us and the processes we have to take if something gets broken. Our creative Miss Eden sourced a number of beautiful tea cups and saucers that the children could play with. See some of the delightful ways we saw the learning unfold in our Acacia Room today.

19.01.2022 Today is Rememberance Day! Today across all learning spaces, we invited the children to pause their play to take a moment to remember all those who lost their lives in service to our nation.. On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we took a moment to listen to the last post and took a moment to remember them. See the heartwarming commemoration captured across our service.

19.01.2022 Creating a stimulating environment that embeds indigenous learning opportunities helps to support all children to better understand their sense of culture and identity. Check out some of the wonderful learning spaces that have been unfolding over the past week! #NAIDOCWeek2020

19.01.2022 At Balance, we have connected with Veritas House Christmas appeal. We believe in teaching children about the gift of giving back and making the world a better place. Contact the office to find out more about how to get involved to create a magical Christmas for all in our community!

16.01.2022 What a great initiative! Even if you don’t have a pool it is still important to teach your child the basics of water safety!

13.01.2022 The children in our Hakea Room created their very own advent calendar. Each day, the Hakea children were challenged by their teachers to think about what Christmas means to them, to others and what we do to make this time of the year a positive time for all around us. Everyday for the past, 24 days. The children helped to glue a small piece of cotton to create a Santa Beard on our advent calendar. We loved the visual way our educators helped children to process the concept of time, the days of the week and to better understand what Christmas means for all in our community.

13.01.2022 Please share if you know an outstanding business that would complement our community.

12.01.2022 Meet Mr Jamie. For all of us at Balance, we believe it is the people in our community make Balance what it is! We value every single member of our Balance community and the ongoing positive contributions they provide to our service. Throughout the week, we welcome parents, carers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, cousins, siblings and extended friends and family who all have a great love for their children. ... Today we were graced by one of our older brothers at the service, Jamie. Jamie loves our balance community. We are always honoured with him outlining his day, demonstrating his dances moves, practicing his spelling skills with us and even reminding everyone to be COVID safe. Jamie even joins in in celebrating our teachers birthdays by writing us cards and letters on our special days. We are always delighted by this amazing, respectful and kind human being and today he delighted us by applying for a job to become a teacher at Balance. He might need to wait a few years- to do some extra study and grow into his uniform but we can’t wait for this amazing community member to one day join us as an educator at Balance! His passion and enthusiasm for learning is so clearly evident and we can’t wait to watch him and every other member of our balance community grow into the amazing future leaders of tomorrow! P.S The very excited Jamie even plans on was sleeping in his new Balance uniform tonight!

10.01.2022 We are so excited to celebrate our Graduation Week next week. Although due to COVID restrictions, we will be holding this event by Zoom. The children have voiced their excitement in being recognized and having a week long party to celebrate their hardwork and achievements this year. We know it is such an emotional step for children, parents and carers and we are excited to offer the opportunity to take photos with the children in their graduation outfits in the carefully curated frame they created this week. Our Graduation via Zoom will be held at 3pm each day next week. Cant wait to see you online!

09.01.2022 Please share if you know a business who would complement our community!

07.01.2022 In our Kurrajong Room, the children have been looking into native flora and fauna following our native animal Yoga that unfolded across the learning spaces in yesterday’s Tranquil Tuesday. Today to further extend our understanding of indigenous history, we planted a native Australian Finger Lime Plant. The Finger Lime has been a valuable source of food and medicine for Aboriginal people for thousands of years. The fruit was eaten for its delicious taste and its ability to ward off disease. The pulp and juice of Finger Limes were also applied as an antiseptic to assist in healing. We can’t wait to watch our Finger Limes grow and add them to some of Miss Carissa’s recipes.

06.01.2022 Today we celebrated World Kindness Day. The young citizens of the Hakea room chose someone special in their lives to created a kind message for to spread kindness and make someone’s day! If you can be anything in this world, Be Kind!

06.01.2022 In our Kurrajong Preschool Room, we believe in extending upon our children’s interests in a meaningful way. Ensuring children’s voices and decisions are heard are so critical to them feeling a sense of agency, belonging and contribute to them developing a lifelong love of learning. This morning, a small group of children were discussing what was on their household shopping lists. In planning our excursion, we made a plan with the children to go shopping. We consulted with ...our chef, Miss Carissa about what ingredients were nutritious and together we designed a shopping list for the ingredients to make a Greek Salad. As one of the items on the children’s wish shopping list was to buy a cake- To extend on this interest as well, we allowed the children take the initiative to buy a delicious looking chocolate cake for our beautiful Miss Nargaya’s birthday! Check out the joy we encountered on today’s excursion! See more

03.01.2022 Check out our Music Monday’s through NAIDOC week. This afternoon we were joined by Ashton as he helped us connect with the sounds of the didgeridoo. The children across our learning spaces watched in awe as our community member Ashton helped us to explore music, culture, sound, rhythm and the audio vibrations that came from Ashton’s didge playing experience!
