I almost heard Geeta's insistent voice urging me to get down to the business of meeting myself on the mat. Her sequences contained therein, from introductory to intensive, have created structure and solace in these whirling times.I highly recommend. " But yesterday the clue came to me, that really many a time, people do not know, what to practice, how to practice, when to practice..why to practice. That gave me some clue which Patanjali speaks (of) in the very first chapter Samadhi Pada 1: 13... Tatra sthitau yatnah abhyasah ("Practice is the effort to still the fluctuations in the consciousness and then to move it towards silencing it: to attain a constant, steady, tranquil state of mind." Light on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali B.K.S Iyengar) The very sutra conveys the meaning to us that we have to get established in that "abhyasa", that practice. It is not merely just practice but getting established in that practice. Again, he says..there are efforts, you have to put efforts. It is not an effortless process in that sense...(to) get established in the abhyasa because ..you have to continue your practice, whether we fail or succeed, we get (it) and we don't get, whether it is painful or non painful, yet, we have to practice.
