09.01.2022 Join @lex.yoga_ tomorrow for a new Saturday morning yin class 11:30-12:30 pm. Yin yoga helps to develop yin qualities such as interoception, restfulness, allowing, inner senses, reflection. Postures in a yin classes are practices in still and more restful and introspective state. Yin poses can help to access deeper tension held in the body and the mind by feeling and sensing more deeply within. The postures practised help to bring awareness to and stimulate the energy in the ...yin channels. The yin channels are liver, kidney, spleen, heart, lung, pericardium. The liver channel for example is associated with storing and moving blood and energy smoothly, releasing anger and frustration and helping to cultivate a clear vision for what we want to manifest. The liver channel can get blocked from stress, holding in emotions, alcohol, drugs and too many vitamins and/or prescription drugs. 08.01.2022 Om or Aum is said to be the first vibration as a sound in the manifested universe. It represents the essence of consciousness. Om, made of three sounds (ah, oh, mm) and silence represents the eternal cycles of creation, manifestation, destruction and no-thingness from which all arises and disappears. It is the mantra of all mantras. Chanting Aum is one of the few practices specifically outlined in Patanjali’s yoga sutras as a powerfully way to still the fluctuations of the mind to evoke the experience of inner peace and to know one’s self.
