25.01.2022 The long weekend is almost over...what did you do? I went to a yoga retreat where I learnt a lot about myself through twice daily yoga and meditation... A clear mind, but with focussed thoughts is easier said than done. Having goals however really helps you to stay on track. Today I begin my 30 Days of Wellness programme and I will post my thoughts and progress along the way If youre thinking about making a change to your lifestyle, this programme is a great way to star...t! 25.01.2022 These things were a lifesaver today! Definitely not enough sleep and a lengthy to-do list! Feeling tired, stressed, lacking energy? Energy fizz sticks - in citrus and pomegranate flavours. 24.01.2022 I know it has been a while since my last post...I've been busy...creating balance I took some annual leave and went on a holiday. With work not being a focus - this balanced my mind. Whilst on holidays, I changed up my fitness routine, swapping the gym for long morning walks along the beachfront - this balanced my body.... I then spent my days eating good food, soaking up the sun's rays, reading a great book and being thankful for where I was - this balanced my soul. ************* You don't need to go on a holiday to find your balance, but you do need to make time in your life to create opportunities that allow you to reflect, share and grow. On this very cold, wet and miserable Monday - take 5 minutes to think about how you can create some balance in your day, week or life...what will you do?!

If you've been health conscious all week, hit the gym or done some exercise, kept hydrated and are feeling like you're ready to p-a-r-t-y, be sure not to undo all of your good work from this week. Enjoy the weekend - catch up with friends, celebrate, and feed your soul. Everything begins within! 22.01.2022 As I round out week 2 of my 30-Day Wellness Programme, this mornings weigh in was 78.1kgs (down from 81kgs). What have I missed most so far? Coffee, cheese, Greek yoghurt and the odd piece of sourdough, which I used to have with my avo smash, bacon and poached eggs! What have I not even given a second thought to? Diet Coke! I really only had 2-3 cans per week and with a squirt of fresh lime, found it really refreshing. But soda water and fresh lime has done the trick, day af...ter day! Keeping up my training sessions whilst travelling for work was a challenge, coupled with an expected surgical procedure on my left big toe - but I managed to keep focussed. The evidence of progress is there when I look in the mirror! Visual motivation is the best kind. 17.01.2022 WOW! It has been 3 weeks since I began my 30-days of Wellness and in that time, I've committed to removing dairy, breads & cereals, alcohol and processed & refined sugars from my diet...I've kept up my normal exercise regime and aside from a minor toe issue (completely unrelated to this)...all is going to plan! 81.1kgs on Day 1 and 77.5kgs on Day 22! In week 2, my energy levels stabilised and the withdrawals from "missing" certain foods subsided.... Week 3 seemed to fly by and before I knew it - hello Week 4!!! Am loving my Fizz Sticks - and although I can't come at these as a morning coffee replacement, they do give me an amazing afternoon boost. I've always been a water drinker 1.5-2L per day and ensuring I keep this up also helps flush toxins from the body. Did you know that you should drink approx. 1L of water daily, for every 30kgs of your weight...?! When my 30-days is up, I think it will be easy to maintain the clean eating of meat/fish and salad/vege, but I am looking forward to having a coffee, a piece of rye sourdough with my avocado smash and the odd piece of cheese!!! :) If you'd like to know more about the programme, PM me or comment below. 14.01.2022 In the lead up to Easter, thoughts of hot cross buns and chocolate eggs occupy my mind, as it wanders late afternoon - YUM! :) However, when talking to a friend today (Jess), she brought my attention to the benefits of Cinnamon! Add it to some greek yoghurt, a smoothie, apple & banana protein muffins and benefit from that mid-morning or afternoon delight even more! A little bit of cinnamon goes a long way, and its antioxidant abilities are what makes it especially beneficial to include in your diet. As little as teaspoon of cinnamon daily can have positive effects on blood sugar levels, digestion, immunity and more; however, stronger doses are also extremely beneficial for improving heart disease risk and cutting your risk of diabetes, cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.

11.01.2022 In prepping for this week, Ive marinated chicken breast in lemon & pepper, have broccoli at the ready for steaming, done my roast vege with garlic, olive oil & herbs (carrot, pumpkin, sweet potato, spanish onion and brussel sprouts) and made a frittata loaf (egg, mushrooms, baby spinach, onion, bacon and a little bit of sheese (vegan dairy free cheese))!!! Add to this my morning smoothie and green arvo juice and its happy days!!!

10.01.2022 It takes 4 weeks for you to see your body changing, 8 weeks for your friends to see and 12 weeks for the rest of the world to notice... Its the end of Week one (or day 7) in my first 30 Day Wellness programme! Weight has gone from 81kgs to 78.9kgs and this is all relative to food and water intake, as well as what Ive stopped eating. During the week, I also managed to squeeze in 4 x weights and core training sessions.... So far so good! Im not sure if its my morning coffee that Im missing or the daily chit chat with my barista! 3 weeks to go and only more goodness to look forward to! 06.01.2022 It has been a week since my 30 day programme ceased and I've maintained my final weight of 77.5kgs. I have DEXA scans roughly twice a year anyway (to track my progress) and timed my most recent one for when the programme ended... Total weight on their machine 78.1kgs... *(LMM) Lean Muscle Mass = 54.7kgs *(BMC) Bone Mineral Content = 3.1kgs *Fat = 20.3kgs with % Fat = 25.9% I'm committed to my fitness regardless and train anywhere from 3 to 5 times per week and do everything from weight & core training, yoga/pilates, oz tag, 7km walk/run interval training etc...my routine didn't change during this time. At the beginning of the 30 day programme, I had my trainer do my before photos and measurements and here are my results... Bust - lost 2cms Waist - lost 1cm Hips - lost 3cms Bum - lost 2cms Left and Right arms - lost 2cms off each Left and Right legs - lost 2cms off each 16cms in total All in all, I'd say I'm pretty happy with those results! I've slowly re-introduced certain foods back into my day to day routine - coffee, dairy, breads / pasta and nothing has had an adverse affect.
