19.01.2022 World Teachers' Day! Dear teachers, Thank you.... You have invested in our children and young people so that they can be the best they can be; so that they find a pathway to a successful future; and that they develop the social and personal attributes that form the basis for future wellbeing. After spending a lot of time meeting and listening to our staff across the State, it is clear that, without exception, the teachers of Western Australia are committed in this pursuit on behalf of students. Today, as Australia recognises World Teachers’ Day, we honour and celebrate you. You have been at the forefront of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) response. In the year of the pandemic, the care given by teachers has made a real difference in the lives of the children of Western Australia. Teachers have a significant influence on the lives of our children and young people. Despite the tough times and challenges, you bring your best to work without expecting any thanks. You get on with the job, and you do a tremendous one at that. Today we honour and thank you. Your dedicated expertise makes me confident in the public education system of Western Australia. And indeed, the future is bright for our students in your hands. Happy World Teachers’ Day. Warm regards Lisa Rodgers Director General
