25.01.2022 CALLING ALL BAKERS!! If you have anytime to help with baking for the cake stall this week, please pop up to the Year 1 teachers and help yourself to baking supplies and packaging boxes. Even one cake would be appreciated! Remember everything has to be labelled and returned by Friday 9th September. Thanks in advance xxx

This fabulous local kids holiday program is running again in the second week of the school holidays at Bracken Ridge Baptist Church. 23.01.2022 THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Saturday 10th September was an amazing success. It was incredible to see so many people at our school helping us celebrate 150 years! We had so many families make donations leading up to the event and support us on the day of the fair. It was great to see old friends catching up, sharing memories and seeing how our school has grown and changed in recent years. We would like to thank the community for all of the support leading up to, setting ...up, during the day and packing away for the Back to Bald Hills Anniversary Fair last weekend. 20.01.2022 CARPARKING INFORMATION FOR THE 150TH CELEBRATION DAY Please take note of the following car parking arrangements for the 150th Celebration Day on Saturday 10 September. KIDS CAPERS -ACROSS THE ROAD FROM BHSS... Parking is available for permit holders only. This will be for the elderly and VIP guests ONLY. ANA STREET PARKING BHSS - TOP HALF OF CARPARK This area will be reserved for disabled parking permits ONLY. GORDAN ELLAM OVAL (SENIOR OVAL) This will be available for public parking (gold coin donation). PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PARKING AROUND THE SCHOOL WILL BE VERY CONGESTED. WE ARE TRYING OUR BEST TO MAKE IT AS EASY AS POSSIBLE. PLEASE HAVE PATIENCE AND A SMILE!

19.01.2022 Dear Parents, Back to Bald Hills Anniversary Fair more than lived up to the expectation of being one of Brisbanes prominent events on the 2016 Calendar. We started the day a little concerned about the weather. But as the workers and stall holders began to setup, our confidence grew and we were blessed with what turned out to be quite a nice day. The huge crowd, estimated at about 5000, rolled in to see all on offer, immersed themselves in all activities, performances, tou...rs, meetups, shopping, beverages and food. And most importantly, left smiling. The highlight to me was looking at the faces of old friends meeting again and reminiscing of old times at Bald Hills State School. This was truly a community event that the school should be very proud of. I would like to thank all those involved including our dedicated convenor Carolyn Borrows, the 150th Anniversary Committee, the school staff and our P&C who worked tirelessly for months, and those who gave up time to help on the day and days leading up to and after the Fair. Congratulations also need to go to our wonderful music staff and teachers who prepared our choirs, bands and classes with some wonderful items and displays. Enjoy the break. Glen Robertson Principal

15.01.2022 Eric (Parker) McLeod planted four hoop pines on Sunday - 80 years after planting the first hoop pines in the Forestry as a student at BHSS! He brought his family with him and it was a memorable event. Eric is 91 years old! The new seedlings have been planted near our 150th Anniversary Walkway and Outdoor Classroom area.

14.01.2022 RIDE PASSES FOR THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY FAIR Just a reminder that arm bands can still be pre-purchased at a cost of $30.00 each for unlimited rides on the day of the fair. The cut off day to return your form to tuckshop WITH PAYMENT will be no later than TUESDAY 6TH SEPTEMBER (TOMORROW). Arm bands will be available on the day of the fair for $35.00 each.... Pre-purchased arm bands will be delivered to classrooms (OLDEST STUDENT IN THE FAMILY) on Thursday 8th September. Please note if the arm band is lost after they have been given out (and this will be recorded) a replacement will not be given. You will have to repurchase a new one. If you can't get to the school to purchase one before the cut off date please ring TUCKSHOP on 32614551 to arrange payment over the phone. Alternatively you can print out the form, scan it and email to [email protected] so it can be processed through TUCKSHOP. Please fill in the subject as arm bands. Thankyou

13.01.2022 A last minute THANKYOU! THANKYOU to all the sponsors, donations of prizes, monetary contributions, Bald Hills Community, bakers, book writers, oh my the list is endless!! The students have been working so hard in helping to prepare and keep the school clean. Learning performances, making beautiful displays and loving every minute of it. They are so excited! THANKYOU.... All the parents THANKYOU for all your hard work and contribution aswell. It is so appreciated. The staff of BHSS, you are just amazing Never have we all worked so hard, and been so proud of our school. We have laughed, cried, worked crazy hours, stressed out (big-time) and smiled through it all! Together WE ARE AN AWESOME TEAM! Lastly to Ms Borrows our co-ordinator of this whole event. Not only is she a full time class teacher, having to prepare classes every day, but she has gone above and beyond in preparing for this day. YOU should stand proud! We are all in awe of this huge event you have organised. THANKYOU. Whatever the weather tomorrow, we will continue to have a fun day filled with wonderful memories! 07.01.2022 We are placing another order of the 150th Commemorative Book. The cost is $50.00. All orders have to be placed by this FRIDAY 16 SEPTEMBER. Please ring the school office on 32611554 and you will be transferred to TUCKSHOP. Payment can then be made over the phone by Visa card. All books need to be paid for when ordering. THANKYOU

01.01.2022 BACK TO BALD HILLS 150th ANNIVERSARY FAIR 5 SLEEPS TO GO! I feel a bit like a child at Christmas time. This will be my first Bald Hills Fair and what a way to start with a 150th anniversary celebration. I am really looking forward to it. By all indications it is one Brisbane Community event not to be missed. Colleagues and friends from other school communities all rave about the Bald Hills Fair. And if the community spirit and involvement that I have witnessed in my sho...rt time at Bald Hills is any indication, we are in for a real hoot of a time. We have a lot of new Prep student parents in the school who have never experienced the day. If you are one of these, make sure you come along, and if possible even lend a hand at one of the stalls or in the setup or cleanup of the day. Lets pray for good weather and a large crowd. We can help by bringing friends and relatives on the day. Congratulations and thanks needs to go to Carolyn Borrows and her 150th Anniversary Committee for the dedication, hard work and time they have put in to ensure the event is a success.
