25.01.2022 The 2021 Bald Blair Angus rainfall charts have just arrived. With 60mm of rain recorded for the last couple of days we are looking forward to La Nina settling in. How do you record your rain? An old fashion chart on the workshop door or the latest farm app? We use a combo of both! How many rain guages do you have and what type?... We have one at Skye, Workshop and Homestead on Bald Blair - always an interesting conversation comparing the recordings! Please message me if you would like a rainfall chart posted to you. 21.01.2022 We love thanking the people behind the scenes of the Bald Blair Angus bull sale. Thank you Al Mabin for capturing this footage. Thank you to the wonderful Bald Blair Public School P & C catering team. They do the most amazing catering for our bull sale each year. Giving up a day from their own lives to volunteer to raise funds for the school. These ladies have a wealth of experience catering for bull sales, clearing sales, field days and any other occasion to raise funds... for important extra activities at the school. We were not sure how many people were going to attand the sale this year with COVID restrictions in place, so it was a bit tricky to work out catering numbers. The selection of home made cakes, slices and sandwiches was amazing - my favourite this year was Mara's zucchini cake - she made it late the night before - no recipie - just out of her head - delicious! 21.01.2022 The Kolora Lagoon, East of Guyra is looking magnificent at the moment. Last year it was bone dry during the drought and in a normal year we have at least one nesting pair of swans. This year we have five nesting pairs of swans with their cygnets. The cygnets are varing sizes and ages, but are doing well under strict parental supervision. We partnered with WetLandCare Australia to fence off 8.25ha of wetland native vegetation, as part of the Uplands Wetlands Project and also... held a field day. These photos were taken on Sunday afternoon, when we were enjoying a spot of bird watching. See more

I would like to take this time to acknowledge the passing of our head stockman, Eric Kelly, who worked with three generations of our family over 44 years from 1959 thru to 2003. To his daughters and sons in law; on behalf of a grateful family I acknowledge your loss, Eric was a special man and an incredible stockman. His gifts of stockmanship were matched by his tolerance of people. He will be missed. 07.01.2022 Bald Blair Angus bulls coming into the yards on bull sale day. Thank you Al Mabin for capturing this image. We love the old timer rails in this section of the yards. Only a few timber yards remain, as we have changed to mostly steel yards made by local Guyra business Ramage Engineering. If you are doing cattle work in the yards (either timber or steel) this weekend - we hope you enjoy working with your livestock as much as we do.
