21.01.2022 Same rules, New fines. Don't touch your phone while driving I'm sure you have heard on radio and/or seen on TV. ... Be advised that mobile phone use penalties while driving will be modified as follows, effective today 01.09.2020 Touching or holding a mobile phone to make receive or end a voice call - $500 and 3 demerits Creating, sending or looking at a text, email, social media, photo, video or similar - $1000 and 4 Demerits. Obviously, you shouldnt use your phone while driving anyhow. However, the change in penalties is noteworthy and we encourage you to inform as many people as you can. 05.01.2022 Ever noticed these signs coming up to a dual lane roundabout? The purpose of these signs is to tell you which lane goes where, and which lane you need to use. Then the white arrows on the roadway then reconfirm what the sign says.
