Its not all about glitter and glue - the kids showed a lot of curiosity, imagination and enthusiasm on this topic and learnt that Earth is the planet we live on, Jupiter is the largest planet and Mercury is the closest to the Sun! 18.01.2022 Dear Parents & Carers, The Committee of Management of Ballan And District Preschool Inc and the Eureka Community Kindergarten Association Inc (ECKA) wish to advise parents and carers of changes to the management structure at the kindergarten. ECKA have been supporting the Committee to manage the kindergarten for the past 8 weeks, providing support to staff, overseeing all aspects of administration and providing expert knowledge, which has ensured the kindergarten is meeting a...ll of its obligations at this time. ECKA is governed by a skilled board and currently manages 28 community-based kindergartens and childcare services in the Central Highlands. ECKA has 17 years of experience as an Early Years Manager (EYM), providing high quality preschool programs. Information about ECKA can be found on their website: www.ecka.org.au ECKA will officially become the Approved Provider (Licensee) of the service on Wednesday 19th of August and take on all the legal aspects of the delivery of the preschool service. The Ballan & District Preschool Association Committee role will change to a supportive role and function similar to a school parents and friends’ group. Parents and caregivers are now invited and encouraged to join the parents and friends committee, free from all the pressures of managing a preschool. Please email [email protected] to enquire or join the parents and friends’ group. The kindergarten operation will not be impacted by this change and will continue for the remainder of the year as normal. Parents and carers may notice some documents will not have the ECKA logo and centre policies will change over to those of ECKA. A small policy and procedure booklet will be made available to parents at the date of changeover. The Ballan and District Preschool wish to extend our sincere thanks to all of the volunteers over the years who have contributed to the success of our kindergarten through participation in the kindergarten Committee of Management. Your hard work and immense number or voluntary hours, too large to count, is acknowledged and appreciated. The Ballan Committee of Management and Management of ECKA look forward to a close and collaborative working partnership that ensures that the kindergarten continues to have a strong future providing the best educational programs to the Ballan community. 15.01.2022 The Ballan and District Preschool Association Inc will hold its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 8th of December 2020. The meeting will be held at 7.45pm via Zoom and you are all welcome to join us! Pop a comment below and we can send you the link . We will also be electing Committee positions during the AGM and its not too late to join! Be part of our close knit community and make a difference in your child's early education. We only meet between 4 and 6 times a year and ...its a great way to meet other people and have a grown up conversation! 10.01.2022 With Stage 3 Restrictions officially starting today, what does that mean for our kinder? We are open and encourage your child to attend! Ballan Kinder is managed by ECKA which means that all our staff are provided with plenty of support and up to date information from the government.... However we know these are unprecedented times and you may choose to keep your child at home - ECKA have collated a list of education websites to enable children and parents access to appropriate digital resources on their website! Check it out at https://ecka.org.au/important-update/ In the below picture our 3 and 4 year olds have been practicing their fine motor skills with the tweezers. Although I wont be unleashing my child on my eyebrows anytime soon, this is an activity you can replicate at home!
