19.01.2022 So much in the works at the club

17.01.2022 It's going to be wet, it's going to be cold, it's going to be great!

13.01.2022 The Ballarat Highlanders Rugby Club wants you to play rugby in 2020!!!! Yes that’s right, we’re back in business for 2020 and we’re calling on all senior male a...nd female players to join our awesome club. Anyone interested is invited to come down to the St Pats college Boat shed on Lake Wendouree at 1pm on Saturday the 20th of June (tomorrow) for a training session. Wear your runners. Everyone welcome. Go Highlanders!!!!

12.01.2022 Massive shout out and congratulations to Highlander Ash! To go from never touching a rugby ball and hating running to smashing out a new PB around the lake is something to be proud of. Your dedication to the season this year has been outstanding, just a huge pity we didn't get on the pitch. Keep up the good work and can't wait for you to destroy the opposition next season!

08.01.2022 Club Update Good Afternoon, Its been a few weeks since I communicated with you. However, given the fast-moving landscape that has been such a factor in all our lives over the last three months I was determined that I would only report to you the facts about our rugby. I have met with both Rugby Victoria (RV) and Rugby Australia (RA) on a weekly basis along with both the Presidents of all rugby clubs in Victoria and more recently all Presidents of regional rugby clubs. The eff...ort that is going in at a committee level is enormous and this all takes place to give all interested players and parents the opportunity to play and/or participate in our great game. We continue with this effort. I think it is a huge credit to RV and RA that rugby is one of the few team sports that are up and running for 2020 with a clearly defined Return to Play (RtP) program. Although, there will remain in place certain restrictions around how we socialize, train, and gather generally, we definitely have the go ahead to pull those boots on. Regarding the seniors, we are regularly having approximately 19 to 26 players attend Tuesday and Thursday training sessions. It is clear that fitness levels have increased dramatically. This has been orchestrated by Mike Silcock, Peter Barker and Tom Azarnicough. Obviously, there is still some way to go, but we are starting to look prepared. We have been actively trying to kick start our Women’s program. Shadae and Evie has been instrumental in this. We continue this pursuit and our aim is to run a women’s sevens program at the end of our season. Our Juniors, well led by Nick Hayes, Mike Porter and Kingie (does anyone know his real name?) are going from strength to strength. The u16 are attracting over 20 lads to training and we have a fantastic opportunity for our U13 lads to play with Geelong RUFC. However, we do need parental support for both age categories. Please parentswe need you! So, your coaches will soon be sending out to everyone our Return to Contact (RtC) and the commencement date of our seasons. I would like to thank EVERYONE who is now involved with our club. We have come a very long way since 2018 and I cannot wait to keep driving this club forward in 2020 and beyond. Stay tuned, stay excited and most of all, stay a Highlander! Best Regards Patrick Quigley BHRUFC

06.01.2022 Training is back in full force, following all Covid Restrictions carefully. Trainings are Tuesday and Thursday evenings, open to all fitness and experience levels! If you're keen to get involved don't hesitate to get in touch
