18.01.2022 Shannon Nicholls | Mr Collins Shannon is a graduate of Ballarat’s FedUni Arts Academy, with the graduating class of Actors, 2017. His final performance with that company was as Greville Todd in ‘Serious Money’. He performed as Mr Collins, Mr Gardiner, and Sir William Lucas in Ballarat National Theatre’s 2018 production of Pride and Prejudice, and worked again with BNT, as John, Neil and Pete in the 2019 production of ‘Speaking in Tongues’.... Shannon currently works as an actor and historical interpreter at Sovereign Hill, and looks forward to being able to return after the pandemic settles down! Over these months of lockdown, Shannon has also worked with local history podcast, Tales from Rat City, working as an actor, as well as sound designer, for their most recent episode. He also worked with that team on their live-streaming initiative, Love, Ballarat, to bring stories of history from the colony of Victoria to the community. More recently, Shannon was also cast as Narrator and Dr John Watson for Someone New Theatre Company’s adaptation of 'The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes', and has been hard at work rehearsing and recording for that project as well as this one. Looking to the future, Shannon has also been cast as Claude in Skin Of Our Teeth productions' 'Loves. Labours. Won'; a new adaptation of Shakespeare's 'Much Ado About Nothing'. The show will, all circumstances allowing, be performed in Geelong in early 2021. You can listen to Shannon as Mr Collins in our Pride and Prejudice podcast. https://ballaratnationaltheatre.buzzsprout.com/ #LizzyInMyEars #PrideAndPrejudicePodcast

18.01.2022 Alana Denham-Preston | Maria Lucas As a lover of tea and theatre, Alana is utterly delighted to re-imagine the role of Maria Lucas for Ballarat National Theatre's audio production of Pride and Prejudice. Alana has always adored the spontaneity of live theatre, having previously performed the roles of Amy Spettigue in Charley's Aunt (2018) and Ruth in Cosi (2016) with Frankston Theatre Group. Prior to completing her studies in Media and Communications and German at the Univer...sity of Melbourne, Alana delved into short courses in Theatre at the Victorian College of the Arts and trained with the Victorian Youth Theatre since she was a 10-year-old drama queen. When she is not busy brewing up a cuppa and planning her next creative endeavour, you can find Alana practicing yoga, mothering her plants, or probably meandering around op shops and the coastline of the Mornington Peninsula. You can listen to Alana as Maria in our podcast here: https://ballaratnationaltheatre.buzzsprout.com/ #LizzyInMyEars #PrideAndPrejudicePodcast
