22.01.2022 UPDATE - Monday 27th April Just want to let all our clients know that our restrictions for dental treatment have been reduced to Level 2 , which means that we are able to see you for regular adjustments of your orthodontic appliances. We are limited, so we cannot use handpieces or triplexes that create aerosols so not all treatments are available and we will be in touch with you if we need to change your appointment. We also continue to request that we limit the number of pe...ople at each appointment and that you use our hand sanitizer as you enter the practice. Thank you for your patience and we hope everyone continues to stay healthy. BOP Team

19.01.2022 Due to ongoing cases of Covid-19 in Regional Victoria we ask that people attending the clinic wear a face mask or covering when possible in our waiting room. We also ask that we have only essential people attend the appointments and where possible if parents can please wait in the car. We thank you all for your patience in these difficult and ever changing times. .

19.01.2022 Hi All Ballarat Orthodontic Family Here is an update on our current situation. All appointments for April have now been cancelled. If you have an appointment in May hopefully that will be your next visit. If you currently don’t have another appointment made please call 53316820 between 9am-12 noon or email [email protected] for all of your enquiries.... When we will reopen is unknown. We will keep you regularly updated. In the mean time please remember to brush your teeth, minimum twice a day and take care not to break anything. As we are all out of our normal routine perhaps a little reminder from parents/guardians to brush our teeth will help to keep everything clean and healthy. We appreciate your understanding at this difficult time for us all, but as a community if we all stay home we can be back up and running as soon as possible. Look after yourselves. See you soon!

14.01.2022 COVID-19 Practice Update Hi Ballarat Ortho clients. As I am sure you are all aware the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) has established itself in Melbourne and we would like to reassure you that our practice has plans in place to keep our patients as safe as possible. ** if you are unwell with an infection or flu like symptoms of any sort, please ring and reschedule your appointment on 5331 6820.... We will most likely postpone until your next scheduled monthly appointment. ** if you have returned from international travel, please let us know and do not attend our clinic for 14 days. ** please apply our hospital grade hand antiseptic on arrival, before you touch anything. You may wish to reapply it before you leave. ** we are vigorously disinfecting surfaces in our practice, so be prepared for a bit of a smell. ** you will notice that our surgery staff are now wearing masks, this is a preventative measure for YOUR protection. ** ring the coronavirus hotline number (1800 020 080) if you’re unsure about whether you should be tested, or staying home. We look forward to seeing you at your appointments and working together for a healthy community

10.01.2022 Hi Ballarat Orthodontic Family, We have been advised by the Federal Government that we are an essential service at this time. We are waiting for more direction from the Victorian Government and this seems to be changing on a daily basis.... We have implemented strict infection control protocols; 1/ PLEASE do not attend your appointment if you are unwell in anyway. 2/ PLEASE do not attend your appointment if you have been in contact with anyone who is unwell. 3/ We ask that only the PATIENT attend the appointment to keep people contact to a minimum. (Allowances will be made for young children.) We know this is an uncertain time for all of us. We will be trying our absolute best to keep our practice open. But, if one staff member was to get sick we will have to close down. In the event we go into stage 3 lock down; At this stage we have been advised that people with braces on are considered essential treatment, however, your appointments may be spread our to 6-8 weeks. In the event we go into stage 4 lock down; If this occurs we will have to close, however, we will be contactable by mobile phone and email. We will be able to see emergencies only. Information and guidelines are changing daily. We will endeavor to keep you informed. Please understand that the above advice may not be implemented. We are doing everything in our power to remain open and continue your treatment. Keep safe.

10.01.2022 A few of our friends with their masks on !

10.01.2022 To Our Ballarat Orthodontic Family, We hope everybody is well and taking care of each other during this tumultuous time which has seen unprecedented changes to the way we live our lives. Coronavirus is having an impact on all Orthodontic Practices nationwide. We are monitoring the situation very carefully and are currently operating as normal.... However, strict protocols are being implemented by health and government agencies and this is likely to impact future operations. In the meantime, we are taking measures to ensure yours and our staff’s safety. 1/ Our stringent sterilization and cleaning procedures go beyond the recommended protocol. 2/ In addition to this, our reception and clinical staff have increased the frequency of common area wipe downs with hospital grade disinfectant regularly throughout the day in reception and clinical areas. 3/ We ask that all patients upon entering the practice use our hand sanitiser. 4/ In order to comply with social distancing we ask that only the patient and 1 PARENT/GUARDIAN attend appointments. Please avoid bringing siblings. The other option is to call from your car when you arrive. Remember, we still need you to attend on time for your appointments. 5/ Those patients wearing plates, retainers and Invisalign please remember saliva is a bodily fluid which when transferred onto hands can transfer viruses and bacteria to surfaces and other people. Only remove them when thorough hand washing and mouth rinsing is available to you. If you are wearing elastics please remember to wash your hands and dispose of any broken elastics in the bin. 6/ We ask that you call to reschedule your appointment if any of the following apply; a/ If you have ANY of these symptoms; fever, dry persistent cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, muscle aches, gastro. b/ If YOU or ANYONE you have been in contact with has travelled to an overseas destination within the last 14 days c/ Had close contact with someone diagnosed with or suspected of having Coronavirus. Thank you for your understanding. Government recommendations ate changing on a daily basis and we will need to change our protocol accordingly. We will continue to keep you updated via our Facebook page. We look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.

10.01.2022 Dr Sargent sponsored the Masters 120m race at the Ballarat Gift. Here he is presenting the winner with his sash.

10.01.2022 From Monday 3rd August Due to the Victorian Government changes we request that everyone entering the practice is wearing their masks. Smile behind it though, we can see it in your eyes and our staff will be smiling right back at you!!!... Thanks BOP Staff

08.01.2022 Our annual Easter Egg Guessing Competition is now online! How many chocolate eggs and bunnies are in this photo? 1st person to guess correctly wins.... The prize will be delivered to the winner on Good Friday. GOOD LUCK!!

07.01.2022 Hi Ballarat Orthodontic Family, Unfortunately as of Monday 30th of March we have been instructed by the Australian Dental Association that we have to close our practice until further notice. With COVID19 putting everyone at risk, the health of our patients and staff is our number 1 priority. Therefore, we have made the very difficult decision, in order to protect everyone it is best if we all self isolate.... We can still be contacted via phone 53316820 or email [email protected] for all of your enquiries. We will also keep you updated via our Facebook page. Obviously when we reopen is unknown. We will keep you updated as soon as we are able to be up and running again. Obviously this situation is not ideal for all our patients with braces or plates, so, we are relying on everyone to take really good care not to break anything and make sure their teeth are brushed really well. We appreciate your understanding at this difficult time for us all, but as a community if we all stay home we will be back up and running as soon as possible. KEEP SAFE EVERYONE. STAY HOME

04.01.2022 How to wear a non-medical fabric mask safely during COVID-19: Do’s and don’ts

03.01.2022 During this time in isolation just a reminder to look after your appliances. Eating hard foods, including lollies, raw vegetables, chewing on pens etc can all break your brackets which can then lead to wires sticking into your cheeks and gums. With our current circumstances changing day by day we would like to make sure that no one is left in discomfort.... If something does break, try to use wax to help with the irritation. All patients will be notified of any changes that occur to our practice. Take care.

01.01.2022 We hope you all enjoyed your Halloween treats in moderation!
