18.01.2022 Its been a rough start to the week for Victoria but we have some good news to share! Our secretary Meg confirmed on Monday that we have met our goal of 150 members for 150 years in 2020!! Fantastic to have such great support for the navy and white star. While our 150th year has been full of uncertainty, our club members have stood up and supported one another and the future looks bright! #GoCity!
17.01.2022 Luckily our swans know how to keep out of the way of a regatta (of course having a bigger lake helps!) Henley moves its swans every year!
17.01.2022 Reminder to everyone to put in your order for the 150years Canterbury rugby top merch. We need 3 more Harlequin patterns to make up ten. Photos of design options attached...
16.01.2022 150 years afloat folks!
16.01.2022 A RETURN TO ROWING... The ‘national principles’ for the resumption of sport in Australia have been revealed. They were outlined by the National Cabinet yesterday with outdoor activities deemed a lower risk setting for COVID-19 transmission. Basically that means sports like rowing are going to be allowed in outdoor settings before it's permitted indoors (no surprises there). A statement from the PM's office says:: "The initial phase accommodates, where possible, for the resump...tion of children’s outdoor sport with strict physical distancing measures for non-sporting attendees such as parents, and outdoor recreational activities including but not limited to outdoor-based personal training and boot camps, golf, fishing, bush-walking, and swimming." We look forward to seeing further guidance from Rowing Victoria and Rowing Australia about rowing's pathway back. We know they have been working hard on it - as has our own club with a protocol currently being drawn up to keep our members safe when we are allowed to return. For a full list of the 15 principles (just scroll down to the sport bit): https://www.pm.gov.au/m/update-coronavirus-measures-1may20 See more

06.01.2022 And that’s a wrap!! The first Junior Introduction to Rowing Program 2020-2021 is done. We familiarised 10 junior rowers with the basics of rowing and we had a blast . The race at the end of the program proved the progress of the rowers and just how important coxes are . Very special thanks to the assistant coaches and coaches who stepped up to help out ... We plan to go again with 10 more juniors in late Jan/Early Feb so let me know if you can help out as a coaches’ helper
03.01.2022 Fantastic to see such a big contingent heading to the Barwon today to take part in Corio Bay’s winter sculling series- we just need to get our neighbours at Wendouree Ballarat Rowing Club coming next week so we can #represent and see some domination from the ‘Rat! It’s a great fun event that runs over a few Sundays and caters for beginners to novices and the elite. If you are keen to have a go have a chat to Bridget Clarke
