23.01.2022 Dr Andrew Cust, who leads our Racetrack Veterinary Team, is often asked to assess horses that make abnormal respiratory noises during work. One of the most effective ways to assess a horse's respiratory tract is with a fibre optic scope. However many respiratory problems are only evident during fast work. For this reason, it is important to perform the scope whilst the horse is galloping, as this allows a thorough and informative exam to be completed.... How do you examine a galloping thoroughbred? One way, is to put them on a treadmill! Watch the following video produced by @Mitch Freedman Racing to see how it's done! #ballaratvet #horsevet #horsecare
