24.01.2022 Exciting News... We will be opening our doors this Thursday from 11.30am for both Lunch & Dinner. With a maximum of 20 people allowed inside the venue with 10 per room, we have a smaller menu with some of our favourite dishes.... Take Away will also commence this Thursday for a drive through pick-up service. We have created a limited $20 menu operating from 5pm - 8.30pm. Call the club tomorrow on 53383000 to book your table. The Driving range will open, with only 10 bays operating Putting & Chipping Greens will open, with only 10 people in each area... Carts are available for hire - Bookings Essential Club fits will be available - Book in with the Pro-Shop From Saturday... Time sheets will open for groups of 4 1 person may book in a group of 4 Course access hours will return to normal Clubhouse access - Due to the very restricted indoor dining numbers, we ask that golfers who wish to enjoy a drink after golf sit outside if at all possible. Golfers should still arrive only 10 minutes before your booked time for play Face Masks are still to be worn at all times when at the club, unless eating or drinking or you have an exemption.

Karen is a great friend of the Club and her outstanding leadership, passion and support for womens golf was critical bringing the Ballarat Icons ALPG Pro-Am event to the Club and to its ongoing success. 05.01.2022 We are excited to announce that our Bistro will re-open on the 22nd of June. Operating hours will be from 11:30am with last orders at 8:00pm. We do ask that you book as seating is limited. Call 53383000 to book. We also have an exciting new menu for you to enjoy!... A range of COVID-19 conditions have been undertaken and are in place to ensure your health and safety when visiting us. These include a maximum of 20 people on any table. We are also obligated to take the first name and contact number from all attending and we will offer a range of options for this. Take away with pick up only will be accepted over the phone we hope to have delivery back as an option in the near future. While in lock-down a repaint of the interior has occurred, new carpet will be installed during July and new furniture and other changes will be coming in the near future. 04.01.2022 Following Monday nights Annual General Meeting the Board in accordance with the Rules met to elect the executive - being President, Vice-President, Captain and Finance Director. At the commencement of that meeting Wayne Hines announced that he would not be standing for the position of President and that he was resigning from the Board with immediate effect. Elections were then held for the executive positions which were then filled as follow:... President Lesa Gray Vice President Paul Foley Captain Michael Erbacher Finance Director Greg Bennett. The Board are delighted to have Lesa as the Clubs first female President in its 125 year history and I am sure that you will join with me in congratulating her on her appointment. The following is a message from our new President. Dear Members, I am both honoured and delighted to be elected to the position of President of the Ballarat Golf Club and look forward to helping overcome the challenges the Club faces as we emerge from Covid-19. While it is a great privilege to serve you it is with some sadness that I take this role on following the resignation of Wayne Hines who has filled this position for the past 17 months and led our Club so well through one of the most difficult periods in its history. I along with the Board express my gratitude for Waynes commitment, enthusiasm and contribution to the Club not only during this time but during his long period of service to the Board across a range of positions. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Greg Anders for his service to the Board. Greg has been instrumental in the development of the Strategic Plan for the Club and his tireless work in raising the awareness of Womens equality which I hope has given the members a better appreciation of the importance of an equal and fair environment for women not only within the Club but in the broader community. Jason Sims has also resigned from the Board and again I would like to thank him for his contribution to the Club and in particular acknowledge his time as Captain and his service on various sub committees. All of these individuals are passionate about our Club and their contributions will be missed, however I wish them a well deserved rest from Board responsibilities. With the resignations of Wayne and Jason 2 casual vacancies have been created on the Board and we will be seeking to fill theses positions in accordance with the Rules. These positions will only be for 7 months until the next elections in March 2021. I would urge all members to consider if they have time and skills that they believe would be of benefit to the Club to contact any Board member or Gary to express their interest. 03.01.2022 For the first time in the Ballarat Golf Clubs 125-year history, the board are delighted to announce its first female Club President with the election of Lesa Gray to the position. Lesa has been an active member of the Club for the past 13 years, serving on the Ladies Committee for 4 years with 2 of those years as Womens Captain and has served as club vice president for the last 17 months. "I am both honoured and delighted to be elected to the position of President of the Ba...llarat Golf Club and look forward to helping overcome the challenges the Club faces as we emerge from Covid-19. The support I have received from all our members has been tremendous and now I will focus on being the President the Ballarat Golf Club deserves. The Ballarat Golf Club prides itself on being an inclusive club focusing on equality for all and Lesa hopes to encourage the growth of its womens and juniors programmes and assist in developing programs for those with disabilities. Lesa mentions, The beauty of golf is you can play all year round, at any level and at any age and if you are lucky you can play golf all around the world, pre and post Covid of course. My philosophy on golf and particularly my own game is,whatever the day brings it is always better to be playing golf than not and I look forward many more years of walking the fairways.
