08.01.2022 With the athletics season in full swing, niggling injuries can stop you from smashing your PB’s or competing in finals!! One of our osteopaths, John is passionate about treating athletes and has competed at state and national levels in a variety of different events from javelin and discus to hurdles + sprints & many more. John understands that track and field athletes require maximal exertion of their musculoskeletal system to perform at their best and can tailor a treatment ...plan to help keep you performing at your best. Common injuries in track and field athletes include: - Hamstring and Achilles tendinopathy - lower back sprains - rotator cuff strain - shin splints & more Osteopaths take into consideration the whole body and how that affects pain, movement patterns and force production so that an athlete can be unimpeded by the stress of injury. 07.01.2022 It's National Diabetes Week! We met with Alex to bring you his story of how EXERCISE was the missing link in managing his diabetes. When Alex was diagnosed wit...h diabetes, he was suffering from depression, sleep apnoea, heart disease and he weighed 125kg. Alex spoke to his GP and was referred to an Accredited Exercise Physiologist who could prescribe him with an exercise program individualised for him. Alex has been working with Tanya and the team at Coordinated Fitness for the past 9 months. I’ve lost 25kgs, my blood sugar is normal, my heart is perfect according to my doctor and my psychiatrist says I seem the most calm he’s seen me in 10 years. They are such an important part of the team. In my experience, I would never have been able to get my blood sugar down to where it is with just medication, Alex said. Alex urges everyone out there to talk to their GP and to organise a plan to see an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Visit https://www.essa.org.au/find-aep/ to find one near you. #ExerciseRight #NDW2020 #diabetesweek2020
