24.01.2022 LLANBERRIS TEMPORARY CLOSURE With the state government’s announcement of stage 4 restrictions, Llanberris will be closed to all users until restrictions are reevaluated on Wednesday 17th February. Obviously BRAC is disappointed that we can’t offer the venue for those who require the facility for specialist training.... We hope that these restrictions are for a short time only and the BRAC committee is working on updating the BRAC Return To Play Policy when we reopen the venue for training once again. Please watch this space for further updates on the Llanberris situation. BRAC Committee

23.01.2022 Llanberris Temporary Closure Tonight the BRAC board met to discuss the recent developments of Athletics Victoria’s Return to Play Guidelines (version1.2) which will come into effect as of Monday June 1st. Under the outlined guidelines Llanberris Reserve would not be compliant with how the centre has currently been operating. The only option we had was to temporally close Llanberris until all the proper processes and procedures are put in place. The board had a thorough meet...ing with a City of Ballarat representative to cover all bases and requirements. We have started to put together a plan of attack which at this stage is only in a draft form. Some information needs to be confirmed on Athletics Victoria’s end but when it is finalised BRAC members will be notified of the new rules and restrictions for use of the facility ASAP. The committee will be meeting again next week and it is the expectation of the board that everything will be in place to get athletes back in for training. Please have trust in the committee that we are doing our best to get this situation resolved as quickly as possible. From this point forward Llanberris is closed to all athletes and needs to be taken seriously. If anybody is seen on premises the police will be called immediately. We understand the frustration and inconveniences this will cause and we thank you all for your understanding regarding this matter in these extremely challenging times. More information to come soon. BRAC Committee

22.01.2022 Llanberris Open Hi all, Finally we can provide you with some positive news that Llanberris Reserve is now open for training once again. As you can imagine how things work now will be a lot different.... A Return To Play Plan has been developed by the BRAC committee and all users of the facility will need to have a thorough look through the rules and regulations. BRAC is putting the onus on the user groups to do the right thing and follow the directions as written. The Return To Play Plan can be found on the link below: https://drive.google.com//1irJ_dBer-25RfLtpLsJOg4MAc/view Individual athletes and groups will be able to access the venue but need to book in through the remote booking link below. You must send the attendance register sheet attached to the Return To Play Plan document to the Venue Officer (Ash Rogers) at [email protected] https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSewNb5n2QVHNBU2O/viewform The track will be available from 9am-6pm Monday-Sunday, all other times the venue will be locked. Only BRAC aligned athletes/coaches can use the facility on Tuesday/Thursday 3pm-6pm. Users must also nominate a safety officer to oversee any activities. They will be required to follow all the health and sanitary guidelines set out in the Return To Play Plan. If we all do the right thing BRAC can work towards slowly reducing the restrictions as time goes on. If you have any questions or queries regarding any of the information above feel free to email Ash Rogers at [email protected] or call/message him on 0400491957. Will be great to have people back in the Ballarat home of athletics. BRAC Committee

22.01.2022 LLANBERRIS RE-OPENING As of today we are excited to announce that Llanberris will be open for training once again under the following rules and regulations. If the below dot points are not adhered to gate cards for athletes can be cancelled and/or the Llanberris will be closed again to the general public. So please make sure to do the right thing for all users of the facility. 1. If you work or live in the Greater Melbourne area (areas under Stage 4/Step 1) please find an alt...ernative training venue. Similarly if you are coming from a known "hotspot" please find an alternative training venue. 2. To minimise the number of people using the facility if it is possible to complete your training at an alternative location, such as a public oval or park, athletes are strongly encouraged to avoid using the Llanberris Athletics Track. 3. The maximum number of people at the track at any one time must not exceed 10 people, with a maximum of 2 groups of 5 people (must be from 2 households only). If you arrive at the track and there are already 10 people there please do not enter the facility. 4. User groups must book in the time they will be using the facility on the following link https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLScxDE4wqA-I7BaBXs/viewform 5. User groups also need to submit the attendance registry for contract tracing to [email protected] https://docs.google.com//1LEMZPmss4L0_Cb2Aq5XMY8b6Cl/edit 6. Follow all the user guidelines in the BRAC Return To Play Policy. https://drive.google.com//1Z04KXhUWBwTRQyxflTfp-RJKr/view With the impending changes to social gatherings on Thursday 17th September please keep checking for updates on the BRAC Facebook page and the website. 20.01.2022 Hi all, Hope all our members are doing well in these times of social isolation and thank goodness for government mandated exercise! Facilities Use... Just an update on the situation with Llanberris and using the track. As of this time we haven't received any communication from the local council to close the facility so the track is still open for athlete training. That being said athletes need to still be following the government exercise guidelines and BRAC would like you to adhere to the following protocols. - No more than 2 athletes training together at a time. BRAC would prefer solo training due to close proximity of this type of exercise. - If an athlete/s are training on the track please give them a wide berth when passing or better still wait until they are finished to start your training. - Make sure to keep the required 1.5m away from each other. The further the space the better! Card Top Ups With the closure of Intersport, card top ups will now have to be completed solely by myself. If you need a card top up or a new card please send me a message on 0400491957 to arrange a cash drop off in my mailbox. Happy to also do card checks as well. If anybody has any additional questions don't hesitate to ask via the Facebook page or message/call me on my mobile. Stay safe everybody. Ash Rogers Facilities Manager

13.01.2022 Evening all, With the Stage 3 COVID-19 restrictions coming into effect as of midnight tonight, the BRAC committee made the hard and unfortunate decision to close Llanberris to all athletes and the general public. This means all athletes and the general public will need to find alternative training locations until further notice. BRAC will be monitoring the situation on a regular basis in the hope that we can get athletes back into the centre as soon as it is safe to do so. ... BRAC understands that this decision will have severe impacts on certain athletes and their training but playing our part in keeping the community safe is our number 1 priority.
