22.01.2022 We’re pleased to announce of BRDL’s Ratpack Captain’s for the first half of 2020 are Killer Mari & Gussy! Gus made her debut with BRDL in 2017, after starting her skating journey with South Sea Roller Derby & has been an amazing all rounder for the team ever since, moving from being a superstar jammer to an unbelievable blocker. She also loves cats... and dogs... and rats... and chickens... and cows... and sheep Mari started skating in 2016 and progressed quickly to make her ...Ratpack debut in May 2017! Mari’s also a key member of BRDL’s mixed gender team, the Prospectors. She’s a formidable blocker with amazing footwork. She also loves dogs! (Check out the second photo for a glimpse at Mari’s first game & her love of dogs!) 15.01.2022 Our final congratulations for the weekend goes to our fantastic low contact skaters who did BRDL proud this weekend & showed that they’re going to be a force to be reckoned with in the future! Thank you also to our own Silky for giving up her time bench the low contact teams at Statewide Stampede this year. Last, but by no means least, thank you to BRDL’s own Zara who reffed up a storm this weekend. Tournaments can’t run without amazing volunteers like you, so thank you. We’d also like to thank North East Roller Derby for all the time and effort you put in to hosting a fantastic double round of derby!!

12.01.2022 In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ballarat Roller Derby League committee has made the tough decision to suspended all training and events, including Roller Skate Fit Club, until further notice. We take very seriously, our responsibility to keep our derby and wider community safe. We want to reiterate that these are preventative measures and it does not mean there is any need to panic. We are sorry to have to make this call & rest assured, we’ll be back on wheels as soon as possible. In the meantime, let’s be kind & look after each other!
