19.01.2022 Hi there Rovers. Sorry we haven't been on here much of late however the Corona Virus and social distancing has got us all locked down. We are still operating as a club however without any meetings etc. Any club issues are being dealt with remotely via the committee. ... Everything has been pretty quiet, however as we get any club news or MAV announcement we will let you all know. We hope you and your families are all safe. We WILL make it though this. Thank you all

19.01.2022 Hey Rovers, The gang at the Dartmouth Motor Inn contacted us to tell as about the great deals they’ll do for riding groups who want a base from which to explore this amazing part of Victoria. There are some truly stunning routes nearby and they’re happy to give you all the info you need. Get a crew together and give them a call! https://dartmouthmotorinn.com.au/

16.01.2022 Hi Team We are just touching base and hope you are all well, fingers crossed we can all get a little moto fix soon. Just wanted to let you know that we are still doing what we can at Monza to get as much sorted as we can before the isolation in lifted. ... Timmy, Adam and Ronny are kicking goals with the new tower. Ash, has done a mega job on the track and we are getting a little fencing done too. The committee has been meeting on a regular basis online to keep things ticking over. We are currently looking at membership options as we realise you haven't been able to get your moneys worth due to Corona. We will come up with a solution soon that will be acceptable to us all, I'm sure. In the mean time, here are some photos from the 1990 Aust MX Titles held at Monza. Thank you so much to Chris McAteer for allowing us to post his photos. Great Effort China and so many legends In these pix :-) Stay safe everyone and we will be back on track as soon as we can.

13.01.2022 Wow! How good is Monza! You will all love it tomorrow, Ash Lang, you are a gun mate!

12.01.2022 G'Day Crew, As we all probably know, it’s that time of year again when our memberships are close to becoming due and we all have to cough up more money. Now we understand that its been a tough year and there hasn't been much riding, however we have spent quite the amount of money at Monza with the improvements etc, without much return. ... But....... Because we love you guys, and we are honestly trying our best to give you all value for money, the committee have decided to make all 2020 memberships valid for 2021 as well. For anyone who has been upfront and already paid their 2021 dues, please let the Treasurer know and you can be refunded. We hope to see you all at either a practice day or (hopefully) a club meeting soon. We thank you for your support of the Ballarat Rovers MCC, more than a Club, we are a Family.

12.01.2022 A message from Mark Hancock the chair of MxSx Australia, and one of our favourite officials. There is still plenty of time and we don't know exactly how the rec...overy might work for us. The last 2 months have been very dynamic as far as restrictions go. If we can just get riding again that is a good start. Use the announced RPA system which has been developed and refined over the past 18 months by MA/SCB is the only way that riding will be allowed in the short term. This will be good for clubs. Then as the next couple of months takes place and as restrictions ease the organisers will be able to consider how competition can be managed. They may need to be creative and it might not be the same as your used to. Obviously club level will be first and then roadmaps can be established. The biggest thing in our favour is being an outside sport and all food is takeaway. We will be racing this year. And with all stakeholders input something workable will occur. It may not be ideal but the committee's will do the best they can. Please work with them and support all they are trying to achieve. The most important thing is to turn up every time something is happening at your club. That includes getting to working bees, assisting in official duties etc. They need your help and support Any racing is good racing and is a bonus. But riding your bikes and working with your mates is the greatest bonus of all, even if there is no racing. See more

11.01.2022 Hello Rovers! Here’s some bloody exciting news...MONZA WILL BE OPEN THIS SUNDAY!! Now, we obviously have some additional rules and restrictions given the current situation....... This ride will only be open to members (you can sign up online before 12pm on Saturday to qualify). Entry is $15, but no cash please, EFTPOS only. The canteen can’t operate so please BYO supplies. Normal licensing requirements stand, but need to be arranged prior to arrival. Please download the COVIDSafe app before you arrive (no, it’s not a big brother data stealer, hello, you’re on Facebook!). Riders must not arrive in groups (unless a parent is bringing a child) and social distancing needs to be maintained. AND, there is a checklist from MV below that needs to be adhered to, please make sure you read it. It’s looks like a lot, but it’s all pretty stock standard stuff at the moment, so LET’S RIDE!!!! Oh, one more thing, we’ve been working really hard over lockdown with the help of some very capable professionals to have Monza in crazy good knick, so it’ll be totally epic. MV’s checklist: If anyone in your group has been sick or is feeling unwell, please stay home or go home and seek medical advice DO NOT bring additional people, riders only or 1 parent if under 18 When parking, keep away from other vehicles as this will make social distancing easier Make sure you keep at least 1.5 meters from others in your group Do not gather in groups to chat Bring your own pen If paying in cash, bring correct money. If the club has Eftpos this is preferred Riders briefing will be done from a distance via PA, do not group together Stay at their vehicle while waiting to ride When going to toilets, remember social distance of 1.5 meters Wash hands after going to the toilet Please bring your own food and drink as the canteen will not be open Bring your own gear and tools, do not share tools or ask to borrow tools. Self-scrutineering means that you need to check your bike before you come as you are responsible to ensure it is safe to ride Bring your own bottle of sanitizer We also advise everyone to download the COVID 19 app Be patient, chill out as this is different for everyone Remember other people may be looking over the fence so please do the right thing

10.01.2022 Attention members. Driving/Riding with Club Reg has an automatic FINE of $1600. Classified as NON-ESSENTIAL Do NOT Ride

09.01.2022 Rovers info brief; the corona edition. Hi there Rovers, Just a quick update to keep you informed and up to date on Monza Park and the club in general as we all move through these crazy and challenging times:... As you know, Monza park is in the midst of a facelift. This is still progressing really well. We’ll have more heavy machinery out there tomorrow for the working bee to finish off the big stuff, before finessing the details such as drainage, watering points, and the new tower. Once completed, we obviously want to get all of you out on your bikes and give you something to look forward to! We are 100% committed to opening the track for practices etc, and we hope to allow more opportunity to ride as the larger race meetings are postponed or cancelled. In saying that, we obviously have to work within the parameters that the government and health authorities put in place. The situation is fluid and changes constantly. If we have to run smaller groups more often, split seniors and juniors to morning and afternoon, or even over seperate days, we will do whatever we can to open....until we can’t. Fingers crossed it doesn't get to that stage. Club meetings may also be affected, we’ll deal with any blockers as they present themselves, and will keep you informed. We are super excited about our new track, and keen as ever to get some bikes on it, we just need to see what unfolds in the coming weeks. Wishing all our members and families good health, please stay safe! ....and wash your hands. No seriously, wash them.

09.01.2022 General meeting this Thursday from 8:15 Rovers. All committee positions are open. Numbers will be capped in line with restrictions, Zoom details can be provided by request.

09.01.2022 We are moving forward. Coronavirus shut down or not. We will be bigger and better and ready!!!

09.01.2022 Hello Rovers, We’ve had some awesome work done on the track (will post some pics and showcase the work of our AMAZING earthworks masters soon). We now need to complete the picture so that Monza is glorious and ride ready. We’ll be working over both days this weekend from 10am (with appropriate distancing etc) to spruce ‘er up! If you have some spare time, please come along and lend a hand. There are many, many jobs of all kinds to be done. If you’re handy, willing to clean, can lift a tyre, or swing a shovel, have not been to Melbourne recently, and don’t have cold or flu symptoms, we want you!

07.01.2022 Good morning to all Members, families and friends, due to circumstances, The Ballarat Rovers Remembrance Ride this year we would like to postpone the day to the afternoon after Ballarat toy ride, if not then it will certainly be before Xmas 12/12/2020 , so please watch this space, we will respect and not forget or fallen riders

05.01.2022 Ooooooooh, exciting times!!!!

03.01.2022 General meeting at the club rooms tomorrow night, Rovers. 8:15 kick off.

03.01.2022 Well crew. Unfortunately it looks like we have at least another couple of weeks to get the track sorted before we can ride. We will continue with the improvements in a way that abides by the current government guidelines and we will also be working with MV to get you all back on track at Monza ASAP. Your safety is our number one concern, closely followed by your Moto fix.... Stay safe Rovers.

02.01.2022 Congrats to Rob Fisher and Nick Rivett on their receipt of Life Membership to the Ballarat Rovers last night, and to Ronnie Irwin for receiving Scotty’s 2020 President’s Award. Thanks to everyone who helped out yesterday, and to the stalwarts who always give their time whenever it’s needed, you’re a bloody crew!

01.01.2022 Just a friendly reminder that you if you are headed out and about this weekend to "Wash your Hands" often and "Use Hand Sanitiser" when available. Stay Safe so ...we can all get riding again ASAP! To stay informed on local restrictions head over to: Victorian Department of Health & Human Services Image courtesy of: Motorcycling Australia
