25.01.2022 Expressions of Interest - Junior Competitions With the Return to Community Netball projected from November 23rd, we are seeking expressions of interest from jun...ior teams to return to netball to play 3-4 rounds for what is remaining of the year. Our start date is scheduled (pending State Government approval) Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th of November. Age groups of 12 & Under, 13 & Under, 15 & Under and 17 & Under on offer. Given the few short weeks, these rounds will be more about getting juniors back on court as a celebration of netball - hence no finals. Just 3-4 weeks of matches for all to enjoy! 15.01.2022 Well it’s been an interesting (aka - quiet!) month or so, it was however good to get the band back together this week and complete an installation job we have b...een working on since February.... So in honour of our recently lacking new gear Friday tradition, Ballarat Sports Events Centre and Basketball Ballarat got some new gear this week! The new P.A. system on the show court has some pretty impressive specs, with 8kw of Lab Gruppen amplification driving a bunch of Turbosound Madrid series speakers, mounted on in-house custom designed mounting brackets (or nearly 500kg of laser cut jigsaw puzzle), wrangling nearly 500m of heavy gauge speaker cable through the venue, some creative rigging techniques to get it all several metres in the air, and a handful of other technical hurdles to get it to all work, has resulted in system that should keep audiences hyped up during games for many years to come! 10.01.2022 Was great to have the Thrifty Ballarat Miners & Rush Junior in this week as part of their Return to Play Fitness Sessions with RADcentre. This gave us the opportunity to test the new Covid-19 venue protocol & procedures in line with Basketball Victoria and the State Government for when the local Domestic Competitions commence.

10.01.2022 The Ballarat Sports Events Centre and Minerdome will reopen re-open with local Basketball Ballarat & Wendouree Netball Association Competitions to commence across the venues. It is important that everyone is fully aware of the government protocol to ensure the safety of teams and staff, but to also keep our competitions running.
