16.01.2022 Our Outside School Hours Care services really enjoyed Children’s Week this year, celebrating the theme of recognising the right of all children to choose their own friends and safely connect with others. (Article 15 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child). Children had lots of fun participating in the varied activities that took place at our 8 OSHC venues throughout the week. Friendship trees and posters were designed and crafted following discussions on ...the meaning of friendship at many of our sites. Gifts of pet rocks and friendship bracelets were created with care by the children at Urquhart Park Before School Care and Bacchus Marsh Grammar ASC, to be given to friends and also family members. At Woodlea OSHC puppets were made to encourage conversations about friendship. Connection with others has been just so important this year as Eleanor from Alfredton ASC explained, when I am around my friends, I am happy. We’d like to thank our OSHC staff for their fantastic work throughout such changed times - keeping our services open and providing safe and friendly environments for the children in their care.
