24.01.2022 The church is a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints. Timothy Keller.

22.01.2022 But in what way shall we attain to this settled happiness of soul? How shall we learn to enjoy God? How obtain such an allsufficient soulsatisfying portion in him as shall enable us to let go the things of this world as vain and worthless in comparison? I answer, This happiness is to be obtained through the study of the Holy Scriptures. God has therein revealed Himself unto us in the face of Jesus Christ. George Mueller.

18.01.2022 Restlessness and impatience change nothing except our peace and joy. Peace does not dwell in outward things, but in the heart prepared to wait trustfully and quietly on Him who has all things safely in His hands. Elizabeth Elliot.

17.01.2022 If the whole universe has no meaning, we should never have found out that it has no meaning: just as, if there were no light in the universe and therefore no creatures with eyes, we should never know it was dark. Dark would be without meaning. CS Lewis.

15.01.2022 When people say, "I know God forgives me, but I can't forgive myself," they mean that they have failed an idol, whose approval is more important than God's. Timothy Keller.

13.01.2022 When I say we are all unbelievers, I mean we still have places in our lives where we don’t believe God. There are spaces where we don’t trust his word and don’t believe that what he accomplished in Jesus Christ is enough to deal with our past or what we are facing in this moment or the next. We don’t believe his word is true or his work is sufficient. We don’t believe. We are unbelievers Jeff Vanderstelt.

12.01.2022 Freedom! It's something we all take for granted until we find ourselves deprived of it. Yet the Bible teaches us that deep down, we are all spiritually captives until Christ sets us free. This week we conclude our series in the book of Exodus by learning of the freedom Christ brings us and the cost of our redemption.

12.01.2022 Lord, give me firmness without hardness, steadfastness without dogmatism, love without weakness. Jim Elliot.

11.01.2022 Surely what a man does when he is taken off his guard is the best evidence for what sort of man he is. CS Lewis.

11.01.2022 To fall in love with God is the greatest romance; to seek him the greatest adventure; to find him, the greatest human achievement. Augustine of Hippo.

11.01.2022 From subtle love of softening things, From easy choices, weakenings,(Not thus are spirits fortified, Not this way went the Crucified), From all that dims Thy Calvary, O Lamb of God, deliver me. Amy Carmichael.

09.01.2022 Blessed are the singlehearted, for they shall enjoy much peace. If you refuse to be hurried and pressed, if you stay your soul on God, nothing can keep you from that clearness of spirit which is life and peace. In that stillness you will know what His will is. Amy Carmichael.

08.01.2022 I think that if God forgives us we must forgive ourselves. Otherwise, it is almost like setting up ourselves as a higher tribunal than Him. CS Lewis.

08.01.2022 If a person has grasped the meaning of God’s grace in his heart, he will do justice. If he doesn’t live justly, then he may say with his lips that he is grateful for God’s grace, but in his heart he is far from him. If he doesn’t care about the poor, it reveals that at best he doesn’t understand the grace he has experienced, and at worst he has not really encountered the saving mercy of God. Grace should make you just. Timothy Keller.

08.01.2022 Since making disciples is the main task of the church, every church ought to be able to answer two questions: (1) What is our plan for making disciples of Jesus? (2) Is our plan working? _ Dallas Willard.

07.01.2022 Hast thou no scar? No hidden scar on foot, or side, or hand? I hear thee sung as mighty in the land, I hear them hail thy bright ascendant star, Hast thou no scar? No wound? No scar? Yet as the Master shall the servant be, And pierced are the feet that follow Me; But thine are whole. Can he have followed far Who has no wound nor scar? Amy Carmichael.

05.01.2022 Faith does not eliminate questions. But faith knows where to take them. Elizabeth Elliot.

03.01.2022 I am wired by nature to love the same toys that the world loves. I start to fit in. I start to love what others love. I start to call earth "home." Before you know it, I am calling luxuries "needs" and using my money just the way unbelievers do. I begin to forget the war. I don't think much about people perishing. Missions and unreached people drop out of my mind. I stop dreaming about the triumphs of grace. I sink into a secular mindset that looks first to what man can do, not what God can do. It is a terrible sickness. And I thank God for those who have forced me again and again toward a wartime mindset. John Piper.

02.01.2022 This week we continue our series in the book of Exodus and consider the problem we so often wrestle with. We think that we have to be in charge and in control. The good news is that we can trust in God who does a much better job at being in charge.

01.01.2022 According to my judgement the most important point to be attended to is this: above all things see to it that your souls are happy in the Lord. Other things may press upon you, the Lord's work may even have urgent claims upon your attention, but I deliberately repeat, it is of supreme and paramount importance that you should seek above all things to have your souls truly happy in God Himself! Day by day seek to make this the most important business of your life. This has bee...n my firm and settled condition for the last five and thirty years. For the first four years after my conversion I knew not its vast importance, but now after much experience I specially commend this point to the notice of my younger brethren and sisters in Christ: the secret of all true effectual service is joy in God, having experimental acquaintance and fellowship with God Himself. George Mueller. See more

01.01.2022 We quickly learn that God is more interested in our holiness than in our comfort. He more greatly delights in the integrity and purity of his church than in the material wellbeing of its members. He shows himself more clearly to men and women who enjoy him and obey him than to men and women whose horizons revolve around good jobs, nice houses, and reasonable health. He is far more committed to building a corporate temple in which his Spirit dwells than he is in preserving ...our reputations. He is more vitally disposed to display his grace than to flatter our intelligence. He is more concerned for justice than for our ease. He is more deeply committed to stretching our faith than our popularity. He prefers that his people live in disciplined gratitude and holy joy rather than in pushy selfreliance and glitzy happiness. He wants us to pursue daily death, not selffulfillment, for the latter leads to death, while the former leads to life. These essential values of the gospel must shape our praying, as they shape Paul’s. Indeed, they become the ground for our praying (For this reason . . . I pray): it is a wonderful comfort, a marvellous boost to faith, to know that you are praying in line with the declared will of almighty God. D.A. Carson. See more
