10.01.2022 Ballina Shire Council wishes to advise Ballina CBD residents and businesses their water supply has now been restored. Water supply was temporarily switched off to residents after a water main broke on Fawcett Lane this morning. Council crews have now rectified the issue and water services have been restored.... After a water disruption the community is reminded: When water returns it may be discoloured. This is due to sediment. Please run the tap until your water runs clear. Your water may appear milky. This is caused by small air bubbles. Don’t be alarmed it is not harmful, and will settle in a short period. During any future water disruption it’s important to leave your taps off as the water may return at any time. Council would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding during this unplanned event. Council proactively undertakes a program of works to upgrade and maintain civil infrastructure to ensure a reliable water service.
