25.01.2022 You know it’s a hot day when every hive is bearding!
24.01.2022 Tree planting!!! This year we begin our journey toward carbon offsetting for Ballina Honey, our family and our animals. We have 28 acres here at Pimlico, bordering the Uralba Nature Reserve. We consider ourselves so lucky to have koalas as neighbours and visitors. So it’s a complete no-brainer that our offset plantings are all koala food and shelter species. We are aiming for 400 trees this year.
24.01.2022 Byron Bay has copped a massive amount of rain. One of our sites is a tad wet . For the first time in 18-24 months ALL of our water tanks are overflowing!!
23.01.2022 Hello honey lovers! What a lovely way to head into the end of 2020 - RAIN!! It’s been a challenging year for so many around the world and really it’s great to bid this year goodbye. Let’s all hope 2021 is a brighter, better and healthier year for all the planets inhabitants and environments. Our team at Ballina Honey are planning on diversifying into a wider product range, and would love to hear from you, is there anything you can’t find, or would love to be able to access?... We are searching for Australia’s best bee pollen, and investigating the properties of propolis. Also looking into DIY packs, such as our lip balms. Wishing you, and those you love a healthy end to the year, from Rob, Bec, Dani and Gui, and of course the bees!
17.01.2022 What is this strange stuff coming from the sky?!?!! RAIN!!!!! We are lucky enough to be getting massive soaking rain at the moment. This will definitely have a positive impact on our dwindling honey supply. However, it’s not instantaneous! The numbers of bees in the hives is not as high as it normally is. We need loads of plants to flower, and the temp to stay warm, and to have several clear days a week for the Queen to lay more. There is then a ~6 week lag until we have more bees out working. BUT... this is a big step in the right direction. thank you Mother Nature .
16.01.2022 So stoked to be involved in such a great project!! Love it

10.01.2022 Gotta love byron bay. Got this sensational site there honey wise. Perfect tasting honey!! Love going there and servicing hives etc. Byron bay turns on the weather some weeks though. Will shift the hives if the tide marks come up too much more. Hive tool, bee brush, and waders ready to go
