23.01.2022 Finally!! From 1 October, residents in the shires of Ballina, Byron, City of Lismore, Richmond Valley and Glen Innes will be included in the border zone. This means people in our communities can travel freely into QLD without having to quarantine. You will still need a border pass which you can apply for at www.qld.gov.au

06.01.2022 CORONAVIRUS UPDATE IN NSW New restrictions for pubs in NSW will come into play from 12:01am this Friday with the following changes: Group bookings will be reduced to a maximum of 10... A full-time COVID Safe Hygiene Marshall will be on duty at venues to ensure the COVID Safety Plan is being implemented (during peak time for smaller venues) A cap of 300 patrons at larger venues Compulsory sign in for every person attending the venue All venues MUST download a COVID Safety Plan and register this plan

With the increasing cases of community transmission in Victoria, the NSW and Victorian border will close to keep everybody safe. There will be mechanisms in place to allow people living in the border communities to access health services and work, with more details to follow soon.

It’s only the Nationals that will deliver this level of investment to the bush! Disappointing to read that Labor and the Greens want to kill the universally loved Stronger Country Communities Fund and our other regional programs. I’ll be sure to let all regional Mayors and Councils know of your plans to pull the rug out from under them, after they’ve endured drought, bushfires and now the economic fallout from COVID-19.
