25.01.2022 Just a little personal plug for my own partbred, Ballinton Murphy's Law. He is a horse that truly has my heart. He is so sensitive and in tune with people and is a prime advocate for the Highland Pony partbreds (although I might be a tad bit biased). This weekend we attended the Graeme Phillips Memorial Ride held at Yarrabin Holiday Ranch. Any day spent with this boy is a day well spent
24.01.2022 Ballinton Dene Highland Ponies are very proud to announce that BALLINTON ROB ROY has officially HIT THE MARKET! This young man is quite something. He oozes competition potential, with flashy looks and movement combined. Blend that with a brave and affectionate personality and you have yourself a WINNER! He is the full brother to my own personal horse, Ballinton Murphy's Law, so I can tell you all from personal experience what a comfortable, athletic and truly rewarding hors...e he has the potential to be. If he is anything like his big brother, he will wear his heart on his sleeve and try his hardest at whatever you face him with. Due to be weaned in the next month or so, Robbie will be ready for his new home. Please feel free to Private Message us or call Mhairi on 0404 389 434 with any questions you may have. Attached to this post is a video and some photos of Robbie, as well as some Murphy all grown up. DOB: 31/10/2017 DAM: Jasper Collection (Lady Di) TB SIRE: FYFEDENE (IMP) Asking Price: $3900 See more
24.01.2022 Just hit the market. Get in quick to get your hands on this young man who is destined for an illustrious career on the competition circuit, in whatever discipline that may be!
24.01.2022 Spent the weekend with this little fella. Soon to hit the market! Even though I want to keep him all to myself!
20.01.2022 SOLD! BALLINTON EARLYBIRD: You all saw a little snippet of this, quite frankly, stunning little filly. She is now down with me in Orange NSW, and everyone that meets her has completely fallen in love with her. She has the right balance of friendliness, quietness and just a little dash of sass, to make her a very special asset to someones family. Unlike most partbreds, she has thrown quite heavily to the Highland Pony and will therefore be a quality competitve mount whilst rem...aining to be strong and stocky. As you can see in the video, she always comes up to see you and can be caught in a very large paddock. You can do anything you need to do with her and she does it all without any fuss! Our farrier said that herself and Braveheart were the best clients he had had all day! Also, at the end of the video she is being handled by someone with limited horsey experience, proving that she will slot right into any family with ease. So, don't be affraid to get in contact via facebook or call Mhairi on 0404389434 if this young lady lights your fire! See more
20.01.2022 Would just like to wish a MERRY CHRISTMAS to all the Dene ponies and their families out there! Feel free to share any festive season photos you have with furry friends!
18.01.2022 Steffiedene, still looking like a babe at 21 years of age My number 1 since I was 8 years old and she was a 3yr old. That's 18 years that this gorgeous girl has filled my life with her sweet... and cheeky... nature. I wouldn't have it any other way.
17.01.2022 Mac 'enjoying' his natural habitat he wouldn't pose for a nice photo because food was his number 1 priority
17.01.2022 Last of the snow spam, I promise!
14.01.2022 I'm normally one to post positive posts on Facebook, but I'm afraid I have to share some very sad news. This week has been truly heartbreaking. On Sunday I made the decision that is was time to let my one in a million pony, Steffie, be put to rest. Words can not describe what this mare means to me. Dad gifted her to me when I was just 8 years old and she was 3. I was so proud to own my first ever Dene highland pony, yet I had no idea at the time what our journey together woul...d entail. Together (with some help and training from Barbara McVean) we began our competitive career at shows all across the UK. Instantly this pony won my heart. I even remember as a 9/10 year old teaching my non-horsey friends to ride on her at the farm . However, the next part of our journey together took a painful turn... I moved to Australia. But, never to be apart for long, Dad decided to move out too and a year later we were joyfully reunited. I will never forget unloading her off the truck in the dark at her new home on the other side of the planet. Her introduction to kangaroos the next day was quite a sight to behold . And so, the next step of our journey began... In Australia. We competed every summer with some real triumphs to add to our belt. She was such a stunner that turned heads wherever we went. I welled with pride every step of the way as she never ever put one foot wrong. And then, a couple of years later, my poor girl got hit with laminitis... To the point where here food oriented disposition let her down and she was in too much pain to even get up to eat... But we stuck in there and she got through it. I never thought I would ride her again, but one foal later and she was back to her old self! Hoorah! I was elated. So the decision was made, when I finished uni she was to come and live with me in Bathurst... And this is where she has spent the rest of her years. She has taught endless people to ride at Yarrabin and looked after them every step of the way. Even myself this year after I broke my arm, I was a tad nervous and wouldn't get on anyone other than dear old Stef. But this is unfortunately where our journey together begins to come to an end. In February this year she had never looked so good, however, two weeks later and she had suddenly dropped a lot of weight and condition. After many tests with the vets and no definite answers and a cold winter ahead, so I went and spent some time with her... And it was then that she told me it was time to go. This special girl has given me 19 years of pure happiness and I couldn't ask for more. So here are some pictures of our adventures over the years. RIP special lady. See more
13.01.2022 BALLINTON EARLY BIRD: Weaned and ready to go! This lovely filly just couldn't wait to see what the world had to offer and decided to come out a whole month early! But if it wasn't for her strong build, she wouldn't have been the miracle pony that we now have gracing our paddocks. She has just recently been weaned and is ready to find her forever home. She is halter trained and picks up her feet and can be brushed all over. I personally think she will make a fantastic all roun...der, excelling in any discipline you point her at. There are many people out there who have full siblings of this young lady and I know for a fact that the will be with their families for life. We can only hope the same fortune falls upon Little Birdie, so please feel free to private message us or give Mhairi a call on 0404389434 for any further information! Attached are some pictures and videos, including a picture of just some of her siblings and one of Fyfedene. Private message me for videos :) Sire: Fyfedene (Highland Pony IMP) Dam: Lucinda (TB x Clumper) DOB: 07/08/2018 Estimated height: 14.3-15hh Price: $3500 See more
12.01.2022 As you all know, the drought is hitting hard and winter is looking a bit tough. We are needing to reduce stock and as a result the price of this gentle man will be reduced to $3200 or $3500 castrated. He is a pleasure to have around and easy to do anything with. Don't miss this opportunity to nap him up at this price! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1647557791968753&id=406518389406039
10.01.2022 BALLINTON BRAVEHEART: Weaned and ready to go! This young man comes with a heart of gold and a strong desire to please. He has stricken us as quite the individual who I doubt you will be able to find any other horse in your lifetime to match. He is halter trained and picks up his feet and can be brushed all over. If he's anything like his full brother, Ballinton Murphy's Law (my own personal part bred)he will grow into an affectionate and eager horse with a strong ambition to ...jump and perform. My suggestion would be that he finds himself in the hands of someone with an interest in eventing or some form of competition. I know that Murphy loves being given something to focus on and learn, and I don't doubt that Braveheart will be the same. So, if you thank that person might be you, please feel free to private message us or give Mhairi a call on 0404389434 for any further information! Sire: Fyfedene (Highland Pony IMP) Dam: Jaspa Collection (TB) DOB: 12/11/2018 Estimated height: 15hh-15.2hh Price: $3000 ungelded See more
09.01.2022 Ballinton Dene Highland Ponies are proud to introduce to you our 2018 partbreds for sale, Ballinton Early Bird and Ballinton Braveheart. I will write separate posts for them, but just to give you a little spoiler, I have attached a sneak peak at these two delightful characters.
08.01.2022 I know it's a lot of snow spam, but I just love seeing our Highlands in their natural weather environments (event if he is being a Sook about it ). Absolutely love this man to pieces. Feel free to share photos and stories of your special Dene ponies!
08.01.2022 What a great end to our competition season. Silver Hills ODE was a great weekend spent catching up with beautiful friends and genuinely enjoying some quality Murphy time. To top it all off we came home with a respectable 5th. As always, lots of improvements to take away with us, but life would be boring if you had nothing to work on Ballinton Murphy's Law - Highland Pony X TB
08.01.2022 Highland Ponies represent! This year's Graeme Phillips Memorial Ride, held at Yarrabin, was one to remember, as they are every year. Super proud of every one of these ponies, each their own character yet each so identifiability Highland. The partbreds are just no stop goers A special shout out to my dear Mac (aka McPhersondene) who was hauled out of the paddock after a solid 6 months of no work (except 4 small rides where he taught Rob to trot and canter) and he took on the... 20kms like he'd been doing it for years, but more importantly he looked after Rob every step of the way, and having a ball in the process (minus one funny little mishap when one sweaty pony met with a particularly sandy piece of track ). Hoorah to the Highland Pony Ponies from left to right: McPhersondene, Ballinton Archibald, Ballinton Murphy's Law, Croftnoc Tia Maria, Ballinton Bush Ranger. See more
07.01.2022 The Ballinton Dene Highland Ponies are at it again! This is a beautiful Highland Pony partbred called Ballinton Holly that is out and about with her owner, both developing new skills and strengthening their relationship. It's wonderful to see our little ponies all grown up and blossoming with their forever families. Updates are always welcome!
07.01.2022 You wouldn't think this'old man'was just 5 haha. McPhersondene
05.01.2022 Good morning all! Do we all remember a young man by the name of Ballinton Rob Roy, our handsome young part bred? Well, do I have exciting news for you all. A couple of months ago he was purchased and sent to his new home. He settled in immediately and has soon become a lovable family member. But really, is it any surprise when the highland ponies are so adorable? So here is a little update of him with his new best friend in his winter woolies! There are also a couple of photos of him when he is in summer condition STAY TUNED - two more beautiful ponies are due to grace us with their presence in a couple of months time!
04.01.2022 This weekend BALLINTON MURPHY'S LAW and I competed at Berrima Horse Trials. We had a fantastic weekend, remaining in the top 6 the whole way through! Super proud of how this young man is growing and maturing. A true highlight of the weekend was bumping into his older brother BALLINTON SNOWY RIVER! A complete surprise and so lovely to have Ballinton ponies out and about representing the breed. These partbreds are perfect for Performance and Eventing... and they love it!
02.01.2022 What happens when you turn your back for 2 seconds! Highlands ey! Essentially like owning a 600kg toddler
