23.01.2022 Please spread the word: twisted balloon toys contain NO plastic! They are over 99% natural latex (rubber). Air-filled balloons are a rather earth-friendly toy; they do biodegrade (not instantly, like food, but over a few years), the trees that provide the latex take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere, and they are made into furniture after about 35 years. I will post my research to my website soon and link it here, but please friends, if you understand that latex is a natural material and you hear people referring to balloons as 'plastic,' it would help my business a LOT if you would set the record straight! Thank you!!
21.01.2022 My December Tassie "tour" starts this week! I’m still available for private bookings, and you can find me making my biodegradable balloon toys and marvelous magic at Hobart Twilight Market Brooke Street Pier this Friday evening (29/11 from 4:30-9:30pm) and at Farm Gate Market on Sunday 01/12.
20.01.2022 I did this for a five-year-old’s birthday party, four years ago (the mom’s idea). That same girl and her family came up to me at the market last week. She did not remember that I had dressed as Tinkerbell, BUT SHE REMEMBERED THE MAGIC SHOW!

17.01.2022 Hi Moms and Dads! You guys are superheroes, saving lives by staying at home with your kids! I've been missing you, and wondering what to do with myself, and I came up with this offering, to help you guys and myself stay sane. I'll be posting content here regularly, but the bulk of the project will be happening on www.facebook.com/bluemonkeyfamily

15.01.2022 This first video on Homeschooling took me all week to make, so... the second should be ready just after your kids go back to school I had a lot of fun making it. I hope you enjoy watching -Mel
14.01.2022 Well, it looks like we won’t be partying together in person for awhile. I’m a little sad but I won’t cry. I’ve got more time to learn new magic tricks, to improve my German, and to put music into my show! Now it’s just a matter of actually doing that stuff instead of reading and playing video games How are you spending your time at home?

11.01.2022 Here's a demo of a fun detective game for you guys to play at home! Have fun! This is how you set it up: 1. Put something from the bed, like a pillow or stuffed animals, on the balcony/porch. 2. Put something from the houseplants, like a leaf or flower, on the bed. 3. Put some toilet paper near the plants where you got the leaf/flower.... 4. Put a kitchen utensil on the toilet 5. Put some toothpaste and a toothbrush in the kitchen. 6. Put carrots or another vegetable from the fridge in/by the toothpaste holder. 7. Put something from the bath tub in the fridge, and put the treasure in the bath tub. To play this game again, simply choose an everyday household object that the kids would see often and put it in another place they are familiar with. Pick up something from that place and put it somewhere else, unusual for that location, and repeat. Start the game with a note or message leading to the last item and then work your way backwards. Important: at each location, it’s important to have a glance around to see if there is anything else unusual in the space. For example, if your tools are in the kitchen the kids might miss the actual clue (toothpaste) and go into the garage. For this game, I only use the safest spots in my home, to avoid risks for younger kids. Also, if your object is not OBVIOUSLY out of place, the kids may not see it as a clue. For example, when I put only my pyjamas on the balcony, my nephew said they’re there to dry out. Next game, I put out lots of other stuff from the bed (my pillow and a stuffed toy).
10.01.2022 Musical, silly, asparagus-themed, not-really-for-kids fun! I’ll be there, as always. This year it’s gonna be online, for your health!

03.01.2022 The local newspaper published a little article about me today. I told the reporter, in my best German Gonzalez is written with 2 ‘z’s... We’ve been staying in the tiny German town of Bersenbrück, where my partner had a 2-month gig making bikes. Back in Berlin in a week!
