13.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE We are happy to share that on Wednesday the 16th September the Victorian Government modified the regulations relating to the allowed repair of bicycles; "Bicycles are considered vehicles and customers are permitted to seek urgent repairs. If the nearest repair or maintenance store is more than 5km from your home, you may travel outside the 5km zone to access these services."... This means Balnarring Bicycle Repairs may: undertake repairs and emergency maintenance of any bicycle (not just those used by permitted workers and/or for essential travel) continue to offer click & collect for parts and accessories If your bicycle needs attention, please contact us and we'll book you in ASAP.

Headed toward its sixth instalment, the Giro della Donna is a weekend-long festival of road and gravel cycling based in the beautiful Yarra Valley town of Warburton, approximately 1hr 40mins NE of Balnarring. It features a 55km Gravel Giro Ride & 15km Piccolo Giro family ride on the Saturday, and the 125km Giro della Donna Road Ride on the Sunday, with plenty of other activities and entertainment right throughout the weekend.... Fortunately the team rallied to source this beautiful @eddymerckxbikes frame to get @theskinnard back on the road in time for the third week of #spicelockdownshowdown Fresh bar tape + new tyres, chain and cassette have made for a pretty nice transformation

05.01.2022 Rust is both inevitable and treatable, but there are a few simple ways to prevent rust and prolong the life of your bike... 1. Store your bike out of the elements 2. Wash & dry your bike regularly, but especially after riding in the rain, on the beach or through mud! 3. Remove rust as soon as you notice it. Steel wool, vinegar & a little elbow grease is an easy at-home remedy... And if all else fails, book your bike in for a service and let us handle it for you

This is pretty obvious when the valve is protruding at an angle like these ones here....
