18.01.2022 In the early childhood classroom much literacy and numeracy learning is incidentalmeaning it happens as a result of being in environments rich in language and mathematics without the need for direct instruction. When children see language and number concepts used around them in meaningful ways and as part of their everyday experience they begin to internalise them. They begin to recognise words, letters and numbers and use language and ideas that they have seen educators or other children use. An environment that is rich in literacy and numeracy possibilities is therefore an important starting point. Our Senior Kindy children are displaying this in their everyday play.

17.01.2022 Adding natural materials such as twigs, straw, pebbles and even paper bark to your range of small world play resources. Encourages the children to create small environments for dinosaurs, farm animals, wild animals or small characters. Natural materials can be used very creatively to produce designs, art experiences and collages.

16.01.2022 There are many benefits to participating in nature play as a child, which also resonate into adulthood. Such outcomes from nature play include achievement, innovation, creativity, positive relationship development, skill development, self-awareness directly related to employability skills planning, organising, decision making, innovation, problem solving, communication and working with others. The connection between these skills and the skills that will contribute to success later in life are clear to see. Our Junior Kindy children are enjoying their exploration outdoors with Miss Michelle and their rock garden.

04.01.2022 Ryan and Campbell are having so much fun.

04.01.2022 The Reggio Emilia approach recognises the environment as the third teacher physical spaces have the potential to influence how and what children learn. Natural spaces (environment and materials) help spark curiosity and provide unlimited opportunities for children to explore, problem solve, take reasonable risk, and develop theories on how their world works. Creating natural environments is the path Bambini is working towards moving forward and we would like your help to t...ake us there. We are looking for donations of loose parts (pvc pipes, cable reels, pallets etc) and natural resources like gum nuts, pine cones, etc If you have any of these items either hanging around your house or work place we will gratefully take them off your hands.

03.01.2022 Gardening with the Toddlers What a great experience the Toddlers had this morning. Children can learn new skills, have fun, socialise and develop self-confidence by spending time in the garden tending plants and growing their own food. Most children enjoy being outdoors and love digging in the soil, getting dirty, getting wet and creating things and watching plants grow. ... This is exactly what our Toddlers did today :)
