18.01.2022 Australian Food Safety Week Tip 6 Cook Food Properly It is important to always ensure high-risk foods including poultry, sausages, meat dishes and roasts are cooked properly to prevent the spread of infections such as Campylobacter and Salmonella. By using a thermometer you can accurately check that the food you are cooking reaches the correct zone of above 75oC. It is also important to be aware of the risk of raw or minimally cooked egg dishes or look for the new paste...urised eggs. Food cooked in microwaves can cook unevenly. Always follow any cooking instructions on the food packaging. To find out more visit https://bit.ly/3nlpuqC

16.01.2022 Over the next few weeks drovers will be moving a mob of cattle between Moura, Banana, Baralaba and Theodore. They will be travelling alongside the Leichhardt Highway and the Baralaba Theodore Road. When approaching the cattle, motorists are urged to slow down and drive with caution, so as not to spook the animals.

10.01.2022 As part of our ongoing maintenance and asset replacement program for water and sewerage, Council will be undertaking works to renew the existing water main located on Ninth Avenue Theodore prior to planned footpath installation. Business owners and directly impacted residents will be informed by door knock, advising them of the commencement of work. Due to the intermittent nature of the works exact interruption times are difficult to predict. Council will work closely with t...he community to ensure the work is completed with minimal amount of disruption. Traffic control will be in place. Vehicle access will be prohibited on parts of Ninth Avenue during construction works; however there will be road signs directing detour routes around the closure. All traffic signage are to be obeyed for the safety of yourself and other road users/pedestrians. We apologise for any inconvenience that may result from this essential work. For further assistance in relation to this matter please do not hesitate to contact Council’s Reticulation Team Leader on 0409 752 329.
