17.01.2022 For a real treat this Easter put this band on your menu of #ourNFF must sees. Moishe's Bagel is touring Australia as part of the Year of Scotland in Australia ...(YOSA) but there are no bagpipes in this mesmerising contemporary world music inspired band. This is thrillingly original, cutting-edge klezmer with an intoxicating blend of Eastern European and Middle Eastern music and rhythms. With limited appearances in Australia experience them on our big stages. They'll draw you in, turn you inside out and leave you smiling. What a ride! See more

09.01.2022 As a result of getting totally smashed by the New Year's Eve bushfires (and beyond) we can't run to a full three-day festival this year but we are organising so...me smaller events throughout the year, with any profits going to the Cobargo Community Bushfire Recovery Fund. Here's the first of them on Saturday 29th February featuring three of the international bands that were booked for the 2020 festival, The Jellyman's Daughter, Eleanor McEvoy and Startijenn. The Cobargo Showground is still being used as a relief centre so this concert will be held at the Four Winds, Barragga Bay just outside Bermagui - with grateful thanks to David and all at Four Winds. Tickets for this afternoon of music are extremely limited -- not even 200 -- so get in early. Come and make a weekend of it and help out the Far South Coast! See more

06.01.2022 If you’re travelling to the Illawarra Festival please get yourself to a show with Marcia Howard. Marcia has been travelling the country and sharing our song ‘Sa...ve The Rivers’. This song is dedicated to Ruby Hunter who was a river woman and song writer and Mothers Milk Bank ambassador. We would like to thank Camellia Boney who inspired this song, Diane Whitarkar, Virginia Robinson and all the women of the Kamilaroi Nation for sharing their story with us. The Kamilaroi, Ngemba, Ualari, Murrawari, Wailwan, Yuwaalaraay, Wanggamurr and Barkindji Ancestors have walked this country for millennia, and we acknowledge and pay our respect to their special and unique place in our nations Dreaming and historical, cultural and linguistic identity. The song Save the Rivers was written by the Mothers Milk Bank Ambassadors: Marcia Howard, Nadia Sunde, Zardi and John Sutton at a song writing workshop for the Ruby Hunter Project, sponsored by the Australian Breast Milk Bank at the Naama Ngunna Baaka Corrobboree Festival held in October 2019 at Walgett, Brewarrina, Bourke, Wilcannia and Menindee. 03.01.2022 Big reveal monday -- the new album cover and title. Before this all began, we originally had a different name in mind, but now that this has become (and will f...orever be remembered for us) as the album we made during the COVID crisis, a new name came to the surface: elllegy. Here's our favorite succinct definition: Elegies are of two kinds: Personal Elegy and Impersonal Elegy. In a personal elegy the poet laments the death of some close friend or relative, and in impersonal elegy in which the poet grieves over human destiny or over some aspect of contemporary life and literature. . . This album has become both meanings for us in so, SO many ways. In a time of such loss, groundlessness, where we're watching the emptiness in US dominant culture enveloping our ability to care for ourselves or one another, this time has become what this album is here to serve. And while elegy can have a morbid connotation, for the cover we also wanted to emphasize the possibilities of new growth, new life, the beginnings that come with endings. It's a dedication to coming out of this together with a greater ability to understand what it means to be interdependent, to be in community, to be able to hold grief and love as two sides of the same coin, with the hope of leaving our world, our cultures, and our communities, as a better home for all who come next. . .
