23.01.2022 The gift of giving is a beautiful experience. For 3 years I volunteered my time and energy into coaching the North Lakes Mustangs FC soccer club. One afternoon I received a text message from a friend asking if I wanted to coach her sons team as a volunteer. Which I replied with a yes. Why? because soccer has given me so much happiness over my life with amazing friendships, the love for travel and belonging to a wonderful community. Its been a huge part of my life since I wa...s young. To see the children get so much out of it, to see them grow each week and season was really special. To see them having fun whilst playing and making great friendships along the way was a real joy. Giving has been proven to decrease blood pressure and reduce stress. This reduction promotes longer life and better health. Giving promotes social connection. Studies show that when you give to others, your generosity is often continued down the line to someone else, or returned to you. Here are 3 ways you can try The gift of giving today or for the future: Smile and be friendly. Sometimes a simple little thing like this can put a smile and warm feeling in someone elses heart, and make their day a little better. They might then do the same for others. Love. Simply finding ways to express your love to others, whether it be your partner, child, other family member, friend, co-worker, or a complete stranger. Just express your love. A hug, a kind word, spending time, showing little kindnesses, being friendly it all matters more than you know. Donate something you dont use. Or a whole box of somethings. 16.01.2022 For 8 years I worked in Early Childhood at Northpine Christian College Early Learning Centre as a qualified educator with a diploma in Early Childhood Education. During the time I worked there, I noticed how much the children did not know how to slow down, pause and breathe. They didnt stop. From the time they woke up until going to bed. We live in such a busy, hectic, demanding and stressful world where we are conscious of only about 5 percent of our cognitive activity. So ...most of our decisions, actions, emotions, and behaviors depend on the 95 percent of brain activity that goes beyond our conscious awareness. Yoga encourages you to relax, slow your breath, and focus on the present, shifting the balance from the sympathetic nervous system (Or the fight-or-flight response) to the parasympathetic nervous system. #breatheandflowyoga #forhappycalmandconnectedchildren

08.01.2022 2 years ago I completed my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher training which would have to be the biggest and most proud accomplishment in my life. A couple weeks before my final assessment. I broke down and started crying and thought I wasnt good enough to be a yoga teacher. Which wasnt true at all, often we can be so hard on ourselves. Everyone can feel this way, its completely normal. How I overcame this negative self belief that I wasnt good enough was through the use of positive ...affirmations each day. I would tell myself I am the best yoga teacher whenever a thought came up that I couldnt pass the final exam. I challenged that thought with positivity. I also use daily affirmations to change the way I feel about situations from day to day such as Today is going to be an amazing day when I wake up so I set myself up for an amazing day ahead. The benefits of affirmations: They teach us positive self-talk, to speak to ourselves with kindness and love. Helps prevent self-criticism, Helps with self confidence. She is qualified in childrens yoga, yin yoga and is currently undertaking a mindfulness level one training. You can find Miranda teaching all ages on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. This yoga pose is great for promoting strengthening shoulders, arms, hands and fingers, leading to better accuracy and control with handwriting , cutting with scissors and developing efficient grasp patterns. How to do Puppy Pose ... Have the child start on all fours on the floor or yoga mat. Show them how tuck their toes under, pulling their bottom up to the sky and pushing arms straight & look at your toes. You can even make barking noises like a dog.
