02.01.2022 Good Morning Beautiful People I just received this awesome picture of the birth of Venus from my mama who was recently in Florence where the painting hangs tod...ay and it ties in heaps with why I called my salon Bandia. BANDIA is Irish for Goddess, but not just any goddess the goddess of the sea Aphrodite is what I had in mind when naming the shop... Why? Not only because shes the goddess of love and beauty...Aphrodite came out of the ocean in Paphos Cyprus where half my family are from and still live today so I have always felt a connection to her story in Greek mythology. (History nerd) The picture is called the birth of Venus which is what the romans called Aphrodite back then the original painting was by Sandro Botticelli 1480. In the painting you can see she is standing on a pearl shell her most precious stone to her that signifies love and rebirth. What better place for this to hang in Broome the home of pearls, the home of Bandia, the home of me thanks for everyones help you know who you are and I appreciate you so much
