23.01.2022 This is a great article published by the ABC on the Story Dogs program and how it’s helping kids with their reading and literacy. It will be very interesting to read the outcome of the research project being undertaken by Monash University into the effectiveness and benefits of these great programs. Every week we see how children have improved their reading skills and are making huge leaps in their reading grades. Maybe I should give them the benefit of my years of research in the field? http://www.abc.net.au//story-dog-program-amazing-/10404292

22.01.2022 It’s a quiet Sunday and mum’s away for the weekend. I think a lazy day at the beach watching the kite surfing is just the thing...

21.01.2022 After an extended Easter break, it’s my first day back at school. Clean uniform? Check New haircut? Check Time to go...

21.01.2022 Time to head home. The holiday’s over I’ve had a great time back in Sydney catching up with some of my old friends. I don’t get down there as much as I’d like these days. Unfortunately, I picked up a bit of a problem with a burst blood vessel in my eye. I went to see the local vet. He was very pleasant, but it’s never a nice experience. He gave me some medicine (Yuk!!) and said it would be fine in a few weeks, as long as I was careful with it.... However, this means I can’t fly home. I’m going to have to take a long car ride instead. I’ve done it a couple of times before, but 2,500KM and 30 hours of driving is a bit tiring. Nothing else for it. Time to get my head down...

21.01.2022 It’s been a busy month with the kids at school. We’ve had a great time and the children have made great progress with their reading. It’s truly amazing to see how comfortable they are now and much more confident in their reading skills. They love it and feel so much more relaxed with their reading. They also enjoy the stories a lot more now. I’m taking a bit of a winter break. Mum’s going on holiday and I’m staying home to guard the house while she’s away. I’ll have some friends staying over to look after me. Someone still needs to plump up my cushion and make my puppychino for me

20.01.2022 Well, I didn’t see this coming; I’m now ‘working from home’. Apparently, there’s a bit of a virus going around and it could make people sick if they catch it. Luckily I can’t catch it myself, but as I work with lots of children at school We don’t want to bring them together and risk some of them catching it. So, although we’re only half way into the school term, I’ve been stood down and told to work from home. Maybe I should start running my own Facebook Live sessions Take care of yourselves and your loved ones

18.01.2022 A busy day at school today. I was completely pooped when I got home. Time to take a well earned rest in my new garden hideout...

16.01.2022 It’s that time of year and I’m heading south for my summer holidays. Woohoo! When they told me I was flying and would have my own cabin, even my own bed, I got very excited. This wasn’t quite what I had in mind! Something tells me the in-flight catering is not going to be up to my usual standard. Very disappointing...

14.01.2022 Wow! What a busy few weeks it’s been! Lots of things going on and lots of school visits. I’ve met many new friends who have read so many great stories to me. I’ve been so busy I almost didn’t manage to get to my usual haircut. Thankfully, I made it...

14.01.2022 Happy Easter I hope you are all having a great holiday break and the Easter Bunny was good to you. Unfortunately, I don’t get chocolate. I’m told it’s very dangerous and poisonous to dogs. Personally, I’m not convinced. Something that smells that gorgeous can’t be bad, can it? It’s holiday time and the sun is out, so at least I get to spend some time playing with my favourite ‘Giggle’ ball. Yay! Dad doesn’t seem so convinced. Apparently, he doesn’t have as much energy as I do, even after eating all those chocolate Easter eggs. Have a joyful Easter.

12.01.2022 Merry Christmas I hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas and you are able to spend time with your families and loved ones. It’s been a great year for me meeting so many more wonderful children. We’ve had some amazing experiences and laughs together.... Roll on 2019

12.01.2022 My last school visit done for 2018 and it’s time to paws for the Chrimas holidays. What a great year it’s been! I’m now visiting 3 schools every week and meeting more new friends. I think I must have listened to hundreds of great stories this year. The progress the children have made has been truly amazing. It’s been fantastic to follow the children on their reading journey and developing their love for learning. I’m actually taking a break for a couple of months at the start... of the new year to go traveling. I’m looking forward to going for walks in some new and exciting places around Australia. It’ll be fun. Sun’s out. Time for a bit of a rest

07.01.2022 Life on the road is not all it’s cracked up to be. I really think we could improve on the cuisine a bit. Not impressed ...

07.01.2022 It’s a BIG day today; It’s my first day visiting at a new school. They’ve not had a ‘Listening’ dog before and I’m told the kids are very excited that I’ll be spending time with them in their reading sessions today. It’s very exciting for me as well. It’s always lovely to meet new children and see their excitement when they come and sit with me to read. I haven’t forgotten my other school. I’m still visiting my old friends as well. I just have to work a bit harder for my supper now

07.01.2022 A very happy 11th birthday for me today; My mum and dad came home today after a 3 week holiday. They said they had a great time, but i'm sure it would have been much greater if they'd taken me with them! But i have had a wonderful time staying with my friend Pixie while they were away. She's a lot of fun and wants to play a lot. Still, breaks up the day now i'm not working. Now to take advantage of mum being away from me for the last 3 weeks. A lot of stroking and combing is now in order. Mmmmmm...

06.01.2022 I’m very much enjoying my holiday in the sunny south. The weather’s been great and a bit cooler than I’m used to. Hopefully it stays this way for a little longer and I don’t have to have another haircut for a while! I’ve been exploring a few of my old haunts as well as finding some new places to go walking. It’s great to be outside and meeting new friends.

06.01.2022 Today I’m showing off my new ‘corporate’ uniform. Yes, I’ve started a new job. I’ve signed up to be a Listening Dog for the Story Dogs program. Story Dogs are a charity that provide Listening dogs for schools to help children with their reading. It’s very similar to what I’m doing in my other work with Delta. I’m still going to be visiting my other schools as well as helping more children experience the joy of reading. It seems I’m going to be very busy with lots of new friends

05.01.2022 It’s the end of the school year and time for a break. It’s been a busy year. I’ve met so many new children and had a great time listening to them read. I’ve also done very well for cuddles and treats. I love my job. Slightly less love for my local vet though! I thought I was going for my usual check up, as well as the usual cuddles and treats from the staff. When I woke up I seem to have lost 3 teeth and the fur on my legs looks like it’s been attacked by someone with a very ...warped idea of a ‘poodle cut.’ I’m not too keen on the new head gear either! Time to catch up on some sleep And think of Christmas goodies ...

05.01.2022 Back home and enjoying the warm weather again. In fact, it was a little too warm with all my long hair. It’s a good job I managed to fit in a haircut...

05.01.2022 Well, my early morning lie-in was well and truly ruined this morning! Mum and dad got me all excited by an unexpected trip out in the car. Little did I know I was going to the vets. Not my favourite place! I’ve had a bit of a swollen and sore paw for the last couple of days and it’s not been getting any better. I’ve been licking and chewing it to help it improve, but it’s not made much of a difference. So off to see my least favourite person. The vet was very nice, although h...e did spend a little too long messing about with my sore paw than I’m sure was completely necessary. It seems it’s a bit swollen and painful due to an infection I’ve picked up from somewhere. So it’s a course of antibiotics and daily washes with anti-bacterial shampoo. Bah! Still, they’re trying to hide the antibiotic in cheese when they feed it to me. If I’m getting fed cheese for the next 10 days it can’t be all bad See more
