09.01.2022 Let’s talk, BOX COLOUR... you know that hair colour you see in the boxes, with the really pretty hair colours on the front whilst you’re doing your groceries? Yeah that stuff. I get it, you think it’s convenient. You’re strapped for time and perhaps cash, so you pick up a box and think, what’s the harm right? Can’t be that hard. Looks easy when the hairdresser does it right? If it gets out of hand, I’ll just get a hairdresser to fix it. Then, one day you realise your... hair that was originally light is now black, and you have to keep doing your regrowth every 3-4 weeks because the grow out is so distinct. To top it off, you’ve been purchasing that supermarket shampoo range and your hair is now not only jet black with lots of colour build up, it’s also very brittle. And one day, you decide to take the first step into the salon, hoping that a hairdresser can perform miracles to remove all of that colour build up, whilst leaving your hair in the best condition. Here’s a secret... We are not magicians. We can not perform miracles. This is chemicals. This is science. This is not put the bleach on and wam bam hello Pamela Anderson blonde. This takes time. This takes money. This takes patience. This takes Trusting your hairdresser. This takes a professional home hair care range. You may get Unevenness You may get patchiness You may get red, orange and yellow undertones- not just the first time- for quite a few times You may get breakage You may not lighten much at all in one session This is what happens when you’re working that box colour!! Please, put the box down. Find a hairdresser who can create a style for you to suit your budget and schedule! If you can only afford to spend $200 every 6 months, then tell your hairdresser that. Be open and honest. There’s no point having a high Maintenance colour, only for you let it grow out and then when returning back to the salon, not getting the results you are after because it cant be achieved in one session. If you are looking for an honest hairdresser, who always has your best interests at heart, who will always try to give you the best results possible, then here I am I can’t promise you miracles or black to platinum in one session, but I can promise honesty and my professional knowledge/ experience. I would of loved to of lightened it all up, however we NEVER compromise the Health of the hair. 07.01.2022 Blonde Refresh When it comes to blondes, you NEED to take care and look after those locks! #keepeducated These are my top 6 MUST have products! ... 1 Professional moisturising shampoo and conditioner. Make sure they are colour safe and sulphate free to preserve tones/ colour 2 Treatment! These guys are way underrated and to be honest a lot of clients don’t realise how important they actually are! They help to rebuild and strengthen your hair. Use a protein based treatment if your hair is brittle, and a moisture based if your hair is dry! 3 Purple shampoo. Nothing too strong! There’s a huge range of blonde shampoos available however having the wrong one can dry your hair out and undo all the good work you’ve done. Distribute evenly. Focus on any gold bits. Rinse thoroughly. Only use it when your hair is feeling brassy! Don’t overuse it! 4 Leave in moisturiser. This helps to manage your hair after washing or getting wet. Makes it easier to comb which means less knots and breakage! Plus, it has ingredients to smooth, protect and more- depending on which one you use. 5 Shine spray. This is great for keeping your hair looking smooth and shiny. Something a lot of blondes can lack! 6 Heat protector. If you are using any type of heating appliance, ALWAYS use a heat Protector fo protect your hair from further damage and breakage! Recommended rebooking time Scalp bleach (Block colour on roots) 4-6 Weeks Foils 6-8 weeks Balayage 6-12 weeks Toner can be expected to rinse/ fade within 3-4 weeks even with good quality shampoo and conditioner. Achieving these milestones has enlightened my journey and also my future plans.... It’s all directed me to wanting to share my knowledge and experience, so I am very pleased to announce I will be introducing HAIR WORKSHOPS! From teaching you simple & easy hair dos for work/ events to the basics about curling, straightening & taking care of your hair. I believe knowledge is power & gives you that confidence boost! Please arrive no earlier then 5 minutes prior or after scheduled appointment I reserve the right to withdrawal from doing any chemical services, I believe is not safe for the condition of your hair Any abuse will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave How to get the most out of your appointment: Come with clean hair Come prepared with photos of desired colour/ cut Avoid blonde shampoos/ toning 2 weeks prior to your appointment Have a minimum of 1cm regrowth When Booking Online: You MUST select a finishing option in the same category as the service you are booking. This is to allocate for TIMING. If this hasn’t been selected, your appointment may be cancelled. If you book your appointment and then cancel, your deposit will be refunded only if you have cancelled within 48 hours of appointment.
