20.01.2022 A great bushcare morning April 11. Knowing contractors are working with us is wonderful. We got rid of a lot of Morning Glory runners and stems, about halfway up the slope. Strategy is stop MG going further up into the good bush. The view from the footpath of Whale Beach road is still awful but can't get any worse. Toasting the reserve at morning tea time! Next bushcare morning: Sunday May 9th, 8.30am.

19.01.2022 We Bangalley bushcare volunteers are really angry at Northern Beaches Council's neglect of this reserve. We work at the foot of the track on Whale Beach Road. Weeds are taking over the bush. The Morning Glory, Trad and other weeds and vines are smothering the native plants. The bushcare group cannot save this bushland without help from the contractors. Please demand proper bushland management from NBC. Email Mayor Regan: [email protected] CEO Ray Brownlee: [email protected] Councillors: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]

12.01.2022 Another great day last Sunday June 13. With the help of some new volunteers we really got stuck into the Morning Glory and Trad. And very encouraging to see where the contractors have been at work since last month. A lot of work ahead yet though. Fantastic to see some Trad leaf smut taking hold where we released it last October. Yellow spots on the leaves are a good sign. Morning Tea together is a great time for a chat. Our next meeting will be 8.30 Sunday July 11.

11.01.2022 Great News! Bush regeneration contractors have started work on the Whale Beach Rd weed infested track area on the western side of the reserve. The despairing bushcare volunteers have been working most months but unable to progress. The team from BARRC, https://www.barrc.com.au/ here wearing full rain gear on March 18, will hopefully be there long enough free the bush of choking weeds, probably for years. The bushcare group meets on the second Sunday of each month. Message us if you can join. It’s a wonderful place.
