21.01.2022 We have a small show of Australian Modern Still Life paintings in our Gallery Annex section of our website. This beautiful Paul Jones oil is one of my favourites. While on leave during World War 2, Jones painted a Still Life and entered into an exhibition with the Society of Artists. It caught the attention of Professor E. G. 03.01.2022 If you ask people who the greatest draughtsman in the history of Australian Art are and they will probably say Lloyd Rees, Brett Whiteley, Donald Friend ... personally I don’t think there were any better than Janet Cumbrae-Stewart. I think this pastel Still Life in our Autumn exhibition is a testament to that. She lived an amazing life and was ahead of her time on many fronts.
